01:35 - Annette Whitby
@TheNerdyTeacher: Here's the email I got from Evernote: I'm sorry to hear you're running into trouble with your pencasts in Evernote! While you can view the PDF itself, you cannot play the audio within Evernote. You will have to open your PDF outside Evernote to hear the audio.

02:33 - The Nerdy Teacher
@Whitby - Hmmmmmmm. I will look into it.

02:33 - Annette Whitby
Side Tabs: AWESOME!

14:53 - Kim Caise 1
i hear that a great deal

14:58 - Sheri Edwards
Is there Evernote edu for younger students?

15:08 - Peggy George

15:09 - Maureen @bcdtech
evernote vs dropbox vs diigo??

15:27 - sarah @soltauheller
last year Skitc was my fav for my k/1's - so easy for dig. portfolios

15:34 - Govinda Panthy
nice question Sheri, i was supposed to ask the same question. i deal with very young kids.

15:37 - Sheri Edwards
Love Diigo -- and evernote does other things to add to Diigo

15:43 - @teachteKBeck(Kristen)
My middle school math students take pictures of their math work on white boards and upload them to evernote!

15:52 - Peggy George
Skitch is a fantastic tool and I'm thrilled to see it integrated with Evernote now.

16:12 - sarah @soltauheller
@bctdtech I use evernote & dropbox differently

16:13 - dabambic
Yes but it is equally easy to share with wikis and Google docs.

16:14 - Maureen @bcdtech
skitch is now on PCs too

16:15 - @teachteKBeck(Kristen)
Love my livescribe pen and the connection to evernote!

16:39 - kgradel
Yikes...Maureen...thanks for skitch info...thought it was still just ios.

I find it best to integrate products across platforms, builds future agility in the workplace

16:59 - Kim Caise 1
cute Nicholas!

17:19 - Sheri Edwards
iPad app Explain Everything shares to Evernote

17:29 - Kim Caise 1
you can save mp3s to evernote and access in your classes - great if you travel class to class

17:42 - Gwen

17:52 - Maureen @bcdtech
do you have to have premium act to share with kids and collect info

18:01 - sarah @soltauheller
I love that I can jsut email the evernote not to parents

18:06 - Govinda Panthy
lovely, i really have to use evernote then. will learn about it soon.

18:14 - Peggy George
I just heard a webcast yesterday with Guy Kawasaki about Evernote and he is a power user! He uses it for everything including keeping track of his travel arrangements, presentations--everything! and I was shocked to learn that he doesn't tag anything because Evernote is so great about finding your info w/o tags!

18:19 - Kim Caise 1
no, the free version allows for collaboration and sharing

18:22 - @teachteKBeck(Kristen)
That is what I absolutely LOVE! Easy access without creating accounts!

18:27 - stacy
I have teachers who have flipped their classrooms using evernote

18:29 - Kim Caise 1
i missed that one yesterday

18:40 - Maureen @bcdtech
thanks Kim

18:56 - sarah @soltauheller
@Gwen I used evernote to create portfolios for K/1 Students - would be GREAT for music

19:02 - Gwen

19:14 - Peggy George
Evernote is such a simple, powerful tool for eportfolios!!!

19:19 - Mrs Angell
age restrictions on accounts?

19:33 - stacy
efolios are a great use for this.

19:33 - Gwen
I am assuming they have an iPad app for evernote? I am split between several buildings so I have an iPad to help me as I travel.

19:40 - Rhonda
that is important Peggy

19:41 - Peggy George
some people used Posterous for student eportfolios but just learned that have closed down. Very sad!

19:47 - sarah @soltauheller
@mrsangell I use my account for all my work w/primary studens

19:56 - Mrs Angell
ipad, android, iphone

19:59 - stacy

23:38 - Peggy George

23:45 - sarah @soltauheller

23:58 - Kim Caise 1
you mean students are not organized?

24:03 - Angie Kelley
LOl! That is so true!

24:17 - karen
do you need 2 different accounts, one personal and one for students?

24:23 - stacy
or a member of the team is absent.

24:33 - stacy
That has been a big problem during this flu season

24:35 - Kim Caise 1
no you don't. you don't give access to your personal items

24:36 - Annette Whitby
haha "Oh Storage"

24:40 - Peggy George
@Sarah I did a Livebinder presentation for students in gr. 5-8 and compiled a lot of examples of Livebinders for them. I could share that link with you.

24:56 - sarah @soltauheller
that would be awesome!

25:08 - Angie Kelley
Can you annotate a pdf file in Evernote?

25:12 - Jordan Collier
Karen, I use one account for personal use and one for school-- it keeps down on the number of notebooks to scroll through.

25:31 - stacy
Does he live imy school? My copy machine is ALWAYS a mess

25:35 - karen
hope we'll talk about the trunk. What is it?

25:36 - sarah @soltauheller
@jordan that is a good idea

25:37 - Kim Caise 1
you can setup your account however works best for you

25:43 - Peggy George
yes @Angie--it's basically a website embedded on the Livebinder

25:52 - Sheri Edwards
@peggy george would love the pres you created for 5-8

25:54 - @plnaugle(Paula Naugle)
I recently have downsized from two 4 drawer file cabinets to just 2 drawers in one file cabinet. Lots less paper thanks to cloud storage.

25:54 - Kim Caise 1
the trunk is where you can add in different apps or tools within livebinder

25:57 - Louise Morgan
I have 3 drawers of stuff I printed because I didn't want to lose track of it. (re)

26:00 - Kim Caise 1
like add ons in a browser

26:17 - Kim Caise 1

Actually it was Louise Osmond ;)

27:42 - sarah @soltauheller
Thanks Peggy!

27:50 - karen
kim - trunk is within Livebinder or Evernote?

27:55 - Kim Caise 1

28:09 - Louise Morgan
Even 2nd graders want to eliminate all the paper in their folders!

28:10 - Peggy George
Evernote is such a fabulous tool that it was absolutely worth paying for the Premium version! I have Premium and use it all the time!

28:29 - karen
Peggy - thanks for the link

28:32 - Peggy George
it feels so good that you can find everything so easily!!

28:39 - Kim Caise 1
if you purchase a livescribe pen you get a premium version ofevernote

28:41 - Peggy George
cute!!! sharing is caring!!

28:58 - Govinda Panthy

28:59 - Kim Caise 1
the premium version is a minimum cost

29:03 - Kim Caise 1

29:14 - Peggy George
you can search so easily on Evernote!! even searches images :-)

29:38 - ElizabethA(France)
the searching within images is very impressive

29:43 - kgradel
That premium version with a new pen is for one year, but it is a great way to get hooked :)

29:44 - Kim Caise 1
how many times have you run out of one or two copies of a handout?

29:47 - Lorraine Leo #2
I missed the text referring to the grade level that Evernote can be used at.. grade 4 and up? Used at the earlier levels?

29:47 - karen
going to purchase first livescribe pen for use in 3 -5 grade. Any advice?

29:58 - Kim Caise 1
same here karen and need advice too

30:07 - Doug Henry
Can students login to Evernote using Gmail "+" notation (<main account>+<student id>@some_domain)?

30:11 - Peggy George
@Karen I have a 4GB Echo and love it!

30:27 - sarah @soltauheller
@karen Label the pens and notebooks for organization - we have 3 pens & the books colour coded

30:35 - Oronoque
my virtual dog ate my virtual notes (6)

30:47 - Kim Caise 1
i would think so doug but i will add that to list of ?s

31:03 - Pat: Barrie, Ontario Canada
can you show us how to share a folder?

31:04 - Kim Caise 1
yep, the note got lost in cyberspace

31:25 - sarah @soltauheller
I do find some issues between my livescribe pens & my mac.. they don't always play nice

31:29 - Kim Caise 1
i added your ? @pat

31:51 - karen
Kim, please explain Doug's question along with the answer. I am a newby.

32:13 - Karen@klirenman
I need major livescribe pen help. I have running records on my pen but am a bit clueless to get them into their evernote accounts. I know it should be simple.

32:22 - @teachingwthsoul
Just found this app for Evernote Powerbot for gmail http://goo.gl/ZrKXr It's awesome!

32:37 - Karen@klirenman
I guess I'm just learning too much too quickly so lot of holes in my learning still

32:51 - Peggy George
@Karen-there are some excellent video tutorials on the Livescribe site. That's how I learned to use my pen.

33:01 - Kim Caise 1
sure no problem. with a gmail account, you can add things to the user name of an email address for student email accounts. like kcaise + student A = kcaise+james@gmail.com

33:11 - Kim Caise 1
that way students don't have to sign up for a gmail account

33:12 - Mrs Angell
dont you need a premium account to share notebooks?

33:16 - kgradel
There are some great tutorials at Livescribe, and their help is solid, too.

33:33 - ElizabethA(France)
I guess that's the reply

33:33 - Kim Caise 1
no you dont have to have a premium account is my understanding but i will have Nicholas confirm

33:34 - ElizabethA(France)
Pat: Barrie, Ontario Canada
can you show us how to share a folder?

33:45 - karen
just attended a workshop-didn't realize the pen could be a piano and get the lastest stock market info. Crazy for someone who grew up using Bics.

33:45 - Karen@klirenman
Thanks Peggy. I need to go play there for a bit. I love my livescribe pen and I love that i have their running records recorded there.

33:47 - clinds
@Mrs Angell - I think you can share notebooks with the free account but need the premium account for other users to edit your notebook?

33:47 - @mathteachr (Anna)
Is Evernote available in any other languages besides English?

34:07 - Peggy George
here's the scoop on what you get with Premium ($45/year or $5/month) http://evernote.com/premium/

34:16 - Kim Caise 1
That is on the must see list @elizabeth!

34:29 - Mrs Angell
so how is @thenerdyteacher getting the students to collaborate in a notebook?

34:40 - @shamblesguru [Macbook]
Evernote + Dropbox + Google Docs = more efficient Productivity + More Time with the Family and for Living

34:40 - Doug Montgomery
I've used Google Aps for collaboration, and planned to use it for an online book discussion. Would this be easier for the students, and allow me to see their work in progress?

35:04 - Karen@klirenman
I think I need to be @karenl there are two Karens here today.

35:07 - kgradel
I will be interested to see how he meshes Evernote with eportfolios.

35:13 - sarah @soltauheller
@karen My kids love using the livescribe pen... love the added modality when writing stories

35:23 - Doug Montgomery
That is so true about when ideas pop into my head about a lesson!

35:44 - kgradel
And it searches handwritten notes, too?!

35:45 - Peggy George
that's really funny! but so helpful! you don't HAVE to tag or add key words to be able to find things!

35:47 - Karen@klirenman
@sarah we need to talk. My kidlets having used the pen yet, it's still just my toy, which is funny because everything else is shared with them.

36:23 - Peggy George
"Multitasking is a ninja skill that all educators/parents need to master if they ever expect to accomplish anything ever again."

36:46 - Louise Morgan
I come up with great ideas when I am out and about. Lot's of times I forget what it was by the time I get back to my computer. #gettingold

36:46 - Linda704
I'm totally busting you to Jen, Nick! lol ;)

36:57 - sarah @soltauheller

36:58 - Kim Caise 1

37:04 - kgradel

37:04 - Peggy George

37:05 - Karen@klirenman
Do you really want evernote in the shower???

37:13 - @mathteachr (Anna)
I just got a case for my iPhone which is waterproof down to 5.5 ft underwater

37:15 - Rhonda
using technology as a tool improves life

37:17 - Kim Caise 1
i do - that is why i bought the case

37:24 - Kim Caise 1
same here @anna

37:35 - Peggy George
the multitasking quote was from Nicholas :-)

37:45 - Rhonda
tech is created to solve problems, not replace people

37:48 - Karen@klirenman
@sarah bring your pen when we meet face to face again. No one in my district uses the pen

37:49 - Jpatten
I like the e-portfolio capabilities of adding non digital items via camera and unique email address for each account :)

38:08 - Sheri Edwards
webinar here http://evernote.com/teachers/

38:10 - kgradel
I'm trying to motivate my preservice teachers to "wanna" use it...I am still needing to require it.

38:11 - @teachteKBeck(Kristen)
It is scary how often I get teaching ideas in the shower, I have a notebook outside so I can write it down when I get out. So glad I am not the only one!

38:27 - sarah @soltauheller
@karen k

38:30 - Peggy George
must be something inspiring about the running water :-)

38:37 - Pat: Barrie, Ontario Canada
Will the presenter be showing us how to use the features. I use evernote but was hoping to learn some tips and tricks.

38:47 - Kim Caise 1
yes he will be app sharing shortly

38:53 - Pat: Barrie, Ontario Canada

"The world is not moving away from mobile technology anytime soon."

39:07 - kgradel
I wonder if Evernote has replaced Nick's use of GoogleApps? or if he uses both?

39:18 - Peggy George
he uses both I think

39:24 - Sheri Edwards
@kgrade good question

39:25 - sarah @soltauheller
aahhhhhhh I want funding.

39:28 - kgradel

39:46 - Sheri Edwards
Hi Rhonda

39:48 - clinds
Language Arts teacher at my school was using Evernote with her students on iPads - loved the app but it kept crashing on the students and having sync issues so she stopped using it. Hopefully Evernote is working on a fix.

39:52 - Louise Morgan
iPad?? what's that?

40:05 - Karen@klirenman
Louise you're too funny!

40:08 - Rhonda Jessen @rljessen 1
Hi Sheri, better late than never I hope

40:26 - Peggy George
we had another great webinar on Evernote with Bill Stites. You can still listen to the recording in the archives. This is the Livebinder for his session. http://www.livebinders.com/play/play/288123?tabid=1ba06583-d487-e604-6c5a-1b543f4939d6

40:27 - Rhonda
It hasn't replaced any technology that I previously used. I think that is user knowledge. More ways can allow for more access, kgradel

40:29 - Kim Caise 1
you may need to reset the ipad @clinds. i am having that problem on my ipad. it is one of the first ones.

40:34 - Sheri Edwards
@rhonda - yes will be showing app use soon

40:34 - Louise Morgan
my kids always lose their flashdrives between home and school.

40:58 - kgradel
Totally agree with needing to empowering their use of devices...and not expecting them to figure it out (for academic purposes).

40:59 - Kim Caise 1
flash drives often crash and students lose their data

41:05 - Karen@klirenman
I love how easy anything in Skitch can be saved directly to evernote. An early primary student can do this independently.

41:22 - Govinda Panthy
1:1 WOW

41:26 - kgradel
Skitch totally rocks.

41:26 - @cordym
Agree Karen!

41:36 - Louise Morgan
new classroom management paradigm

41:36 - Peggy George
great blog post by Buffy Hamilton-Starting Students with Evernote

41:41 - Kim Caise 1
the topic of our show next week is Skitch!

41:41 - John Orlando
Is this a marketing seminar?

41:48 - Kim Caise 1
no it isnt at all

41:53 - Rhonda
we can't control what is used, in every present or future environment. More important to be flexible and integrate

41:57 - Jon H.
My class will be 1:1 next week!

42:01 - ElizabethA(France)
definitely LOL

42:17 - Louise Morgan
congrats Jon

43:03 - @cordym

43:05 - Govinda Panthy

43:06 - Kim Caise 1
you can use evernote on the computers that kevin honeycutt's son helped you obtain @govinda

43:23 - Rhonda Jessen @rljessen 1
I love Evernote for personal use between various devices

43:27 - sarah @soltauheller

44:12 - Kim Caise 1
yes it is

44:13 - Peggy George
love seeing this demonstrated!

44:16 - @cordym
Great share Peggy!

44:23 - Kim Caise 1
you can download the app from evernote.com

44:26 - @teachingwthsoul

44:36 - sarah @soltauheller
@louise I got it for free with my livescribe - have gone back to free version - haven't had any issues, just pesky ads

44:57 - @thehomeworkdog Lisa
Thanks for all the links Peggy!

45:13 - Linda704
Hi, Lisa!

45:13 - @cordym
@teachingwthsoul not finding Doxie in App Store. Doxie Scanner for iPad

45:26 - @thehomeworkdog Lisa
Hi Linda :)

45:32 - Peggy George
any links that are shared here in the chat I will add to the Livebinder later. Please share your favorite Evernote resources here in the chat :-)

45:36 - @teachingwthsoul
@Linda704 Hey Doc! How are you my friend!!

45:39 - Patti R
I have used Evernote for a while for myself but I am wondering if I put it on our shared iPads, could more than one student be writing in a notebook at the same time, or could they each be creating their own notebooks in the same acct at the same time

45:43 - Annette McKee, Mabank ISD, Mabank, TX
we do not yet offer email for students, how can they collaborate?

45:43 - clinds
@Jon H - That's great about 1:1. What devices?

45:59 - Peggy George
Evernote as Portfolio http://evernotefolios.wordpress.com/2012/11/20/bringing-portfolios-home/

46:08 - Aunttammie
When students do podcasts, I put the mp3 into my public folder, then make a qr code to link to it. Post the qr code on the board.

46:13 - Linda704
Need to learn to use evernote--too much stuff to do & keep track of!

46:17 - @cordym
@Patti on iPad students would have to log in and log out. This is a bandwidth hog because all notes would have to download to device

46:23 - bj m
email is blocked at our school, this has caused issues with sharing

46:25 - Kim Caise 1
patti and annette i added your ? to the list

46:25 - Rhonda
Peggy, r those links in LiveBinder?

46:26 - kgradel
Does Kidblog interface with evernote? I know I can insert links...

46:46 - sarah @soltauheller
good ? @kgrade1

46:46 - Peggy George
Shamblesguru has some fantstic Evernote resources on his site! http://www.shambles.net/pages/learning/ict/evernote/

46:50 - Louise Morgan
@kgradel - good question

47:08 - @cordym
Evernote and Kidblog: I haven't see anything for that, but you could put a link in the blog to Evernote

47:16 - ElizabethA(France)
that's like pbworks

47:22 - Peggy George
yes most of these links are in the Livebinder :-) some are embedded in other Livebinders but included in our Livebinder today

47:23 - @thehomeworkdog Lisa
I use Evernote as my bookmarking site.

47:28 - Rhonda Jessen @rljessen 1
@Peggy George, Shambles Guru seems to have good resources for everything!

47:39 - Linda704
Loving all the links here! Saving in Diigo! :)

47:41 - Peggy George
absolutely @Rhonda!!! he really does!!!

47:42 - sarah @soltauheller
@kgradel I have saved links to kidblog student blog in their portfolios - all in one place

47:54 - Sheri Edwards
@Aunttammie what app do you use to make the podcasts?

47:55 - Rhonda
Mac users have a right click save to feature as well

48:12 - LucianeCurator @web20education
Hi . Because #MOOC is next big thing in XXI Century Education I just post Top 12 #MOOC platforms to teach on learn http://bitly.com/moocin2013

48:16 - kgradel
Did Nick do any explicit instruction with students on good notetaking?

48:22 - Peggy George
woo hoo! app sharing :-)

48:27 - Aunttammie
Just the app on their smartphone...the recording app

48:29 - Peggy George
so great for seeing examples!

48:34 - ElizabethA(France)
YEY :-)

48:39 - Jon H.

48:54 - Karen@klirenman
@Sarah so smart. I tend to use evernote for my records of students growth, and my kidlets use their kidblogs as their documentation of their learning . They control their blogs, I control the evernote notebooks.

48:55 - Kim Caise 1
awesome ? @kgrade1

49:03 - Peggy George
that is sooooo clean, neat and organized!!!!

49:06 - ElizabethA(France)
I like the icon layout

49:10 - @teachingwthsoul
Use Evernote almost exclusively to share links with my new teachers http://goo.gl/OmVNu

49:11 - Sheri Edwards
thanks Aunttammie

49:14 - Annette Whitby
I'll definitely be reviewing this webinar. Excellent info here!

49:15 - Louise Morgan
Very nice looking.

49:16 - Aunttammie
I do this on live binder

49:17 - Christine (@jhox1)
Yeah, @Kim Caise 1. I am looking forward to that. I want to use Skitch more.

49:18 - Linda704

49:46 - Louise Morgan
no "he didn't teach that" excuses now!

50:03 - Peggy George
that's a parent's dream! they will always know what their kids are working on and if they have homework assignments!

50:12 - Sheri Edwards
Thaks Linda704

50:21 - @teachingwthsoul
WORD! What? LOL! Just kidding. ;

50:23 - Peggy George
great tip about lable them for when they are due

50:26 - shukufa
interesing thank you

50:27 - Jon H.
Can you add a google doc link to evernote?

50:54 - @SteveHayes_RB60
sharing notebooks - save not only the teacher's time (time spent copying handouts) but also classroom time - It's a great tool!

50:57 - Patti R
I think I accomplish the same sharing of notes and assignments by posting a google doc in a tile on the class symbaloo; gives anytime anywhere access

51:02 - Louise Morgan
I ge tons of emails from my own kids' teachers - hard to keep up with them. This is better.

51:05 - Karen@klirenman
I think you can add any link into evernote. I'vehad no trouble yet adding a lnk.

51:23 - Karen@klirenman
I have youtube links in my students accounts etc...

51:28 - Jon H.
Thanks Karen

51:28 - Peggy George
@Aunttammie the bonus with Evernote over Livebinders is that you can search within every document/image to find something

52:05 - Peggy George
going paperless is a big bonus!

52:12 - kgradel
@PattiR: I agree about the power of Docs and Symbaloo...I think that the student generation push is a great feature of using Evernote. I, too, am trying to mesh the relevant tools.

52:20 - sarah @soltauheller
dumb ? but does each child have evernote on their ipads? & do they access these @ home

52:33 - Peggy George
it's browser based @Sarah

52:37 - Louise Morgan
Wow. so impressive. I teach 2nd grade, but can see how I can use some of this.

52:46 - Linda704
Our buildings have been running out of copy paper...and budget to buy more...this could help!

52:49 - ElizabethA(France)
Hey - what's this layout called -mine don't look like that :-(

52:49 - Kim Caise 1
if they have a login they would have access to only their individual work

52:58 - Kim Caise 1
using the same app on their device

53:05 - Kim Caise 1
they can download the free app at home

53:05 - @mathteachr (Anna)
If I share something with students, can I "unshare" it later? Ex. I want to rework the class notes and then share my new version

53:16 - Kim Caise 1
yes you can unshare it

53:18 - Aunttammie
@peggy does each child have to have an Evernote account ?

53:21 - sarah @soltauheller
I get that @peggy but for organization does each S have their own evernote account or are they logging into his

53:21 - Peggy George
yes Louise! definitely works with primary students too! Check out Aviva Dunsiger's blog about using Evernote with her first/second graders

53:26 - Louise Morgan
I am embarrassed to think about the amount of paper we use at our school.

53:27 - Patti R
i wish I could get some teachers to stop filling a chalkboard with notes and having kids sit and copy them by hand...-sigh-

53:30 - Karen@klirenman
@Sarah I have the evernote app on each students iPad. Pre kidblog app we used it to upload their work from iPad through skitch into the class evernote account. But I find now with the kidblog app they uplaod on their own right to their blogs.

53:59 - Louise Morgan
@peggy - Thanks! I Love what Aviva is doing wiht her kids!

54:00 - Jpatten
If the teacher has the premium accent and not the sstudents,

54:13 - Linda704
I <3 Aviva!!!

54:13 - Peggy George

54:17 - @plnaugle(Paula Naugle)
@Patti ,kids can take photo of chalkboard notes and put in Evernote.

54:20 - Rhonda
becomes their resume

54:32 - stacy
This is also great for those who need artifacts for the new evaluation system

54:38 - sarah @soltauheller
@karen - I just used 1 account when I had digi ports last year - each child had a notebook - way easier to organise tthan 24 different accounts

54:41 - Louise Morgan
Living Avivaloca!

54:43 - Patti R
@paula oh yes, I know this, it is convincing another teacher to allow it

54:43 - Peggy George
exactly @Rhonda!! resume :-)

54:44 - kgradel
@Paula: Great reminder :)

54:47 - Jpatten
...(oops) can the teacher create the notebook to share and allow student to edit?

54:48 - ElizabethA(France)
Thanks - really glad I came :-)

55:02 - Linda704
Yes! great idea about eval artifacts!

55:10 - Jpatten
Or do the students need premium account?

55:14 - Dotty
Does anyone use Evernote with edmodo?

55:15 - Peggy George
tons of fabulous questions in the chat!!! thank you!!!! We'll ask them for you in a minute.

55:17 - Rhonda Jessen @rljessen 1
So are the student accounts associated with school or students? I am looking for a long-term solution for ePortfolios that will follow students for their academic career

55:19 - Karen@klirenman
@sarah Yes, I just have one account with each studen having their own notebook. But I tend to control the evernote files, and kidlets control their kidblog portfolios.

55:59 - Louise Morgan
karen, do your kids use ipads at school?

56:07 - stacy
I can't wait for my principal to ask for my lesson plans and show her these

56:10 - Aunttammie
How would a kid get to his notebook within a teacher account? Confused.

56:11 - sarah @soltauheller
are they accessing his account or does each child have an account

56:14 - Peggy George
that's a great tip about the red notations

56:20 - Shelly Moses
Oh... great question Dotty.

56:36 - Karen@klirenman
@Louise Yes! We are very lucky this year with access to technology.

56:56 - Dotty
Evernote with Glogster anyone used

56:57 - Kim Caise 1
i will ask @sarah

57:00 - Karen@klirenman
@Louise my students use iPads to document a lot of their learning. They love to SPEAK to their work - digital or non digital.

57:04 - Linda704
Great idea for notes on the plans. Again, artifact for eval to demo you reflect.

57:15 - Louise Morgan
Very good. I am building my case (y)

57:19 - Sheri Edwards
agree with @Aunttammie: How would a kid get to his notebook within a teacher account? Confused.

57:27 - kgradel
@Linda704...good point about self-reflection in plans.

57:57 - ElizabethA(France)
I'm gonna start regretting teaching ESL - which can't be that much "information based" :-O

58:01 - Peggy George
Evernote & Edmodo resources https://www.evernote.com/pub/mguhlin/edmodo#b=da0aba51-8798-4015-ad50-5d3c25f1caa7&st=p&n=21ac60c4-1beb-4e8f-9c0c-6fac20adb964

58:08 - Kim Caise 1
each student would need a login i would think @sheri

58:17 - sarah @soltauheller
gotta head out to another session - thanks Nick & peggy!

58:27 - Lorraine Leo #2
On some occassions the internet is temporarily unavailable for us. Is there a way to work with evernote offline in the event that this happens?

58:44 - Peggy George
most of these links are in the Livebinder :-) https://www.livebinders.com/play/play?id=770153

58:47 - kgradel
@Lorraine: Great question

58:49 - Kim Caise 1
yes, you can work on the device and when back online it will auto synce

58:55 - Peggy George
I'll add any new links to the Livebinder after the show.

59:06 - Kim Caise 1
or when the app is first accessed it will sync

59:11 - Aunttammie
So it sounds like his kids are required to have an Evernote account

59:14 - Karen@klirenman
@Louise let me know if I can help you. Access to iPads have had a huge impact of my students I need to blog about it. It's the variety of choice of tools that help open up the world of learning even more so for my sudents

59:16 - Sheri Edwards
so students login to the teacher's account?

1:00:08 - Louise Morgan
DM-ing you on Twitter Karen.

1:00:17 - karen
please clarify this for younger students without email accounts

1:00:23 - Rhonda
It becomes theirs

1:00:36 - Karen@klirenman
I need to go too unfortunately. Thanks Classroom 2.0 Live Team, and Nick. :-)

1:00:41 - Patti R
I was assuming you made a link to a notebook and shared the link with students

1:00:53 - Aunttammie
Unfortunately our school email doesn't allow access to the outside...

1:01:12 - Patti R
@aunttammie our email is the same for students

1:01:23 - Jon H.
Thanks Nick!

1:01:42 - Dotty
What happens if they change schools or districts? My county has over 20 school districts and kids move a lot.

1:01:46 - Rhonda Jessen @rljessen 1
Gerat, so they are developing an ePortfolio that can follow them over the years

1:01:47 - @plnaugle(Paula Naugle)
What is Evernote age limit in their terms of service?

1:01:48 - clinds
@Rhoda - That's why we went with Google Sites for student ePortfolios. Students can transfer ownership from their Google Apps for Ed account to their own personal Google account and take portfolio with them when they leave the school.

1:01:48 - shukufa
thanks very much

1:01:54 - Peggy George
Lots of great information in his ebook! not free but WORTH IT! 4.99 on Kindle & iBook http://www.thenerdyteacher.com/2012/12/the-complete-guide-to-evernote-in_7633.html (Ebook by Nicholas Provenzano: The Complete Guide to Evernote in Education)

1:01:54 - Aunttammie
But at high school they are usually ok with using real email

1:02:04 - Rhonda
Lower grades Teacher Acct -->students notebooks, shared w/parents and students

1:02:15 - Louise Morgan
Little kids could use their parent's email

1:02:18 - Rhonda
Upper Grades --> individual accts

1:02:25 - Rhonda Jessen @rljessen 1
@clinds some of our school use Google docs, but not all (yet)

1:02:53 - Peggy George
important distinction between viewing and editing-need an account to share editing but don't need an account to view Evernote resources

1:03:25 - Aunttammie
Good point, Peggy

1:03:27 - Becki Tharp
Sounds like LiveBinders as far as collaboration goes.

1:03:47 - Patti R
kind of like the problem with more than one student trying to edit a wiki page at the same time

1:04:11 - Peggy George
have to be careful about editing at same time--much like wikispaces and even google docs--can have problems with any of them when editings at same time

1:04:27 - Rhonda Jessen @rljessen 1
that sounds like a good solution, work individually in notebook, then combine them

1:04:32 - ElizabethA(France)
It's an ongoing prob with pbworks too

1:04:59 - bj m
It took me a few minutes to get in, can I get a copy of the chat before I entered

1:05:10 - Louise Morgan
Need to head out. This was great. Thanks LiveClass20 folks and Nicholas!(*)

1:05:23 - @plnaugle(Paula Naugle)
To collaborate you could add link to a Google Doc into Evernote and then everyone could access and up to 50 can work on GDoc at one time.

1:05:28 - kgradel
GoogleDocs has spoiled us in terms of synchronous editing

1:05:42 - kgradel
Yes, @ Paula...perfect idea

1:05:45 - Peggy George
we'll officially close the session and then continue with Q/A. If you need to leave we'll keep the recording going :-)

1:05:59 - Kim Caise 1
not sure @bj m if you will get the whole chat but we will post the whole chat log once we exit the session on our archives page of our website

1:06:09 - Becki Tharp
@paula, good point! Gdocs has spoiled me!

1:06:14 - Rhonda
Have a great day, Thank You Nicholas

1:06:17 - Peggy George
I love that suggestion @Paula!!! edit the Google doc within Evernote!

1:06:24 - clinds
@bj m - Yes, the link in the archives will take you to the full webinar including the chat.

1:06:35 - Sheri Edwards
another post http://blog.evernote.com/blog/2012/12/18/8-power-ways-evernote-can-help-you-get-more-from-your-research-in-2013-and-a-new-ambassador/

1:06:45 - Peggy George
thank you Sheri!!!

1:06:45 - bj m
How do you edit the portfolios if they are sharing with you? THen do they need the premium version.

1:06:50 - Rhonda Jessen @rljessen 1
@plnaugle do you even have success with that many people editing Google docs at a time, we have problems with even 10 at a time (probably a bandwidth issue)

1:06:56 - @mathteachr (Anna)
Q: I'm concerned about advertising. Are ads shown to students who are using the free version of Evernote?

1:06:57 - Lorraine Leo #2
can code be embeded into evernote (Voicethread embed code etc?)

1:07:04 - stacy
love that the cost is affordable. thank you so much

1:07:05 - Patti R
thanks so much, great info

1:07:15 - Shelly Moses

1:07:16 - Angie Kelley
Thank you!! :)

1:07:22 - Peggy George
thank you all for joining us! we'll keep going with the Q/A after we officially close the session

1:07:28 - Doug Henry
Great webinar - thanks!

1:07:29 - Jpatten
Thanks guys! Have a great weekend,

1:07:38 - shukufa

1:07:40 - kgradel
@Peggy: Just got the book...thanks for the info.

1:07:43 - The Nerdy Teacher
I'll be here until the questions are all answered.

1:07:46 - stacy
Upcoming programs look very interesting

1:07:58 - @mathteachr (Anna)
@nerdyteacher yay!

1:08:00 - Becki Tharp
Thank you - great session!:)

1:08:05 - Peggy George
all of the Future of Ed webinars are posted on http://www.futureofeducation.com

1:08:10 - Peggy George
they are always great!

1:08:13 - @plnaugle(Paula Naugle)
@Rhonda, lots of people editing at once on GDoc can get quirky but it does work especially if working on different parts of same doc.

1:08:48 - Rhonda Jessen @rljessen 1
@plnaugle will keep that in mind (work on different parts of same doc)

1:08:59 - Peggy George
Please nominate yourself or another teacher to be a Featured Teacher!! http://tinyurl.com/CR20LIVEFeaturedTeacherNominat

1:09:01 - Sheri Edwards
Love Gooru

1:09:08 - Jpatten
I second the question re: using embed code in Evernote?

1:09:25 - @mathteachr (Anna)
@Rhonda Was in a mooc where we all had to edit a gdoc, and people got frustrated when whatever they wrote was overwritten by someone else

1:09:36 - Peggy George
yes @Sheri! really looking forward to the Gooru show!

1:09:46 - Peggy George

1:10:16 - Peggy George

1:10:18 - kgradel
@Rhonda: Need to preplan where and how a gang needs to interact with docs. I often create tables and assign numbers, to get folks in their own "row" on a doc.

1:10:23 - RoBeryle
How woul my chorus students use evernote to record themselves?

1:10:30 - Peggy George
iTunesU is a great way to view the recordings on your iPad or iPhone :-)

1:10:39 - Eileen K 1
Thanks everyone! Wonderful session, I can't wait to try Evernote!

1:10:42 - Sheri Edwards
@rhonda @mathteacher anna I tell my google docs students to first find a place in the document and add their name -- then that is their spot to write on the doc. takes a minute at the beginning.

1:10:48 - Rhonda Jessen @rljessen 1
@Anna, found the same thing with my students, learned to expect that the first time they used Google docs that would happen and not much work would happen, built in time to debrief and talk about ground rules

1:11:12 - @plnaugle(Paula Naugle)
@Rhonda, also suggest people use diffferent colored fonts so they can see their work with the GDoc. When ready to finalize change entire doc to black.

1:11:14 - Peggy George
Huge kudos to Nicholas for a fabulous presentation!!! Thank you so much!!! There are still many questions. :-)

1:11:22 - kgradel
@Rhonda: Agreed. It is like middle school all over again the first time on docs :)

1:11:57 - @janwells
Yes @plnaugle works well for us!

1:11:59 - Peggy George
Kim and I were both changing the slides :-) sorry

1:12:01 - ElizabethA(France)
Hanging on to hear the answer to Lorraine's question about embedding code such as VThread

1:12:48 - Mrs Angell
thank you

1:12:49 - Sheri Edwards
evernote privace policy https://evernote.com/legal/privacy.php

1:13:05 - @plnaugle(Paula Naugle)
@Jan Wells Yes, it does! :)

1:13:09 - @janwells
Thanks, Nicholas.......will be digging in over the weeked.

1:13:14 - @janwells

1:13:21 - kgradel
Nick: Good points about Drive on the iPad. Is Evernote NOT blocked in your district?

1:14:13 - Linda704
