@plnagle - today, I'm not even trying - later

16:02 - Carolyn Stanley
49 folks in the room - pretty nice number

16:34 - Peggy George
here's what Heidi shared with us about Storybird

16:35 - Peggy George
An online creative writing tool. This is an online storyboard. Students can create books on a given topic, or use their own creativity to create a book. An artwork gallery is part of the site and students can choose an artist or set of prints to use in their book. I used this several times last year for my fourth graders and they really liked it. Several went home and wrote books on their own! I modeled how to use Storybird first with a book I created about a student's fear of the upcoming state test, then we created a class book about their mom's for Mother's Day (I sent the link home in a newsletter). Finally students created their own story about what they were going to do on their summer vacation. Since most of my students had many anxieties about writing, this was a different way to get them involved in the writing process. Students write a story using artwork from the gallery. Other students can read and comment, make suggestions or ask question of their fellow authors. I chose this tool because it helped students get over their anxieties about writing a story. They could write and have the pictures help form their ideas.

16:40 - @shamblesguru
I use ScoopIT to announce new stuff on Shambles http://www.scoop.it/t/what-s-new-on-shambles-net

17:19 - @plnaugle(Paula Naugle)

Thanks Carolyn Windows 7 time

38:51 - Susie @shighley
Kind of scary in that it sounds a little bit like waht our administrators are going to start using the evaluate teachers!

39:02 - @teachteKBeck(Kristen)
Karen, I love that I can record my voice and elaborate on what I am explaining, such as how I think about what I am doing as I do it!!

39:03 - aunttammie
I have a few rambunctous 9th graders who could use Dojo!

39:09 - Peggy George

40:08 - KarenJanowski
@teachtek- I know. I often asked teachers "how often do you repeat yourself?" once you create a mathcast, always have it available for students to review. what's not to like as a teacher?

40:14 - @lisamellen
@shamblesguru- you are like 1 stop shopping!

40:20 - @Len_Horn
How cool!

41:45 - Carolyn Stanley
Do you upload a movie to LiveBinders 0r only the link to another storage area?

41:57 - @shamblesguru
Would you call LiveBinbers a Curation Tool ... like ScoopIT .... I'm not sure.. thoughts?

42:09 - Peggy George
the tabs are pretty much in order of the slides for today in the Livebinder

46:33 - aunttammie
loved edmodo...now we use turnitin, so I just use that so as not to have so many logins. But I adore Edmodo!

46:35 - Peggy George
@Shambles-you can collaborate on a Livebinder so it could be considered a curation tool. But you can organize it exactly as you want it (in contrast with scoop.it)

46:58 - Carolyn Stanley
I would love to introduce edmodo, but they'd say, "enough is enough"

47:08 - Peggy George
this is a great overview of Edmodo!!!

Linoit seems more reliable that WallWisher.

1:02:04 - Vicky Sedgwick @visionsbyvicky
My kids like this one because of all the colors & it has seemed more stable than WallWisher.

1:02:05 - mrsharc 3

Everytime someone puts a file in our shared Dropbox folder, I get a text message to my mobile - automatically!

1:06:31 - Carolyn Stanley
Just learned about CloudOn that allows you to edit Office documents right in your Dropbox on your iPad.

1:06:33 - Patricia Smeyers
engrade.com is another tool I use for grades that can be accessed by parents and students at home. You can decide how to add prarticipation, homework etc. and assign different lessons as well.

1:06:46 - @janwells
Then in that dropbox acct I shared 1 folder I named students, and then put each student a named folder within

1:06:47 - Peggy George
didn't see your slide or your google form submission @aunttammie! we can add your tool to the Livebinder though
