11:10 - @Len_Horn
Love your answer zmidler!

11:12 - @plnaugle(Paula Naugle)
Hi Virginia Alberti, how are things is Italy?

11:31 - Michelle L. Holstein

11:42 - Carolyn Stanley
I've seen wonderful resources from the Special Ed department in Florida - but not the matrix.

11:43 - blairteach
Hey, Paula. Hope your year is off to a good start.

11:54 - Peggy George
you're going to love what AZ has done buidling on the Florida Tech Integration Matrix!

12:18 - Peggy George
if you don't have a classroom you can still place yourself on the continuum

12:25 - Peggy George
awesome tech users!!! woo hoo!!!

12:42 - zmidler
Is it possible to be a TIM groupie?

12:56 - Michelle L. Holstein

13:02 - Carolyn Stanley
Lots of that integration is probably inspired by Classroom 2.0 webinars.

13:14 - Peggy George
We use the newbie question to give you a bit of background about the topic before the presentation actually begins

13:15 - virginia alberti
Hi paula I'm now in car and my audio is jumping

13:18 - @plnaugle(Paula Naugle)
@Blairteach we are off to a great start. Using Edmodo and kidblogs already and learning lots of new things.

13:43 - Peggy George
Cherie is one of my FAVORITE AZ tech colleagues!! I'm thrilled she is here to share with us today!!

13:44 - Todd Conaway

14:00 - Carolyn Stanley
We just uploaded all of the students in our district to our new Google Apps for Education district domain.

14:01 - @plnaugle(Paula Naugle)
Welcome Cherie.

14:04 - Peggy George
You'll find all of the links she will be sharing in our Livebinder for today

14:16 - Sally
@tammy moore any way to take notes in blackboard?

14:16 - Debbie
Education is changing. Web 2.0 allows people to collaborate 24/7/365

14:20 - Carolyn Stanley
Welcome, Cherie.

14:39 - Lorie Moffat
There is a Note function in Windows menu

14:46 - Peggy George
you can take notesby going to Window>Show Notes

14:54 - Sally

15:03 - @dabambic
Hi Carolyn!!

15:05 - Peggy George
then you can save your notes as text to view later

15:17 - Carolyn Stanley
@Peggy - that is a cool feature, but I'm using Evernote.

15:20 - stidmama
I often use the "stickies" on my mac to take notes, too.

15:29 - Peggy George
the tech matrix does an awesome job of keeping the focus on the students!

15:38 - Carolyn Stanley
Hi! Daryl! Loving your Posterous. Nice bunch of students you have.

15:54 - @dabambic
Thanks. They were thrilled by your comment.

16:00 - Peggy George
I prefer Evernote also for taking notes because all of the links are clickable :-)

16:12 - Peggy George

16:23 - Peggy George
We'll be taking a tour on the site and will drop the links for you here

17:27 - Peggy George
you'll be able to see this better when we go on the web tour

17:54 - Peggy George
click on your hand Cherie so we can see you move it

17:54 - Lucian
Hi everyoane

18:03 - AdamFerguson
Will this slide be on the website?

18:34 - Peggy George
Hi Lucian! WElcome

18:45 - Peggy George
yes all of this is on the website--we'll show you where to find them

19:18 - Peggy George
that is such an important point!! there is nothing wrong with being at the entry level--we all start there

19:35 - zmidler
T3 members--would we alter our TIM to have the Learning Cycles on the left and levels of integration along the top?

19:47 - Carolyn Stanley
Thanks for that disclaimer - because you have to start somewhere - evolution is important.

20:01 - stidmama
I am in the "early adaptation" stage when I am in classrooms.

20:17 - Peggy George
we might be at different levels for different purposes

20:24 - Peggy George
exactly stidmama!!!

20:28 - gdebenport
Zoe, I like that idea

20:33 - stidmama
Would love to get more background so I can move toward the more transformative end

20:35 - Sally
I'm at the early adoption level too

20:53 - Carolyn Stanley
It's taken us a number of years, but our district is finally getting there - different teachers in the district at different points, of course.

21:11 - AdamFerguson
In my graduate program, technology is a required course.

21:12 - @plnaugle(Paula Naugle)
Need to be using the 4C's from the Partnership for the 21st Century - critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and communication.

21:13 - TerriReh
ZM might be more CK

21:32 - Peggy George
those are embedded all the way through Paula

21:33 - Brooke Mulartrick @brooker1015
@Paula - that's my new favorite site. Love the peter reynolds' video

21:42 - Peggy George
everything in the matrix is based on tech standards

22:06 - Peggy George
food for thought... reflection question

22:50 - Amy Chayefsky
Good pause Cherie

22:53 - Peggy George
wonderful Cherie!! Think time!

22:56 - Carolyn Stanley
I think our district is more at that the infusion level, but we are moving towards the transformation level.

22:58 - Peggy George
Hi Amy!!

22:58 - zmidler
@terrireh yes & give both teachers and admin contextual relevance since this is our PD focus this year

23:16 - Peggy George
I would agree Carolyn! Your district is doing some fantastic things with technology!

23:24 - stidmama
am I right that this section is not heirarchical?

23:34 - Peggy George
I like reflective better than goal directed too :-)

23:48 - @plnaugle(Paula Naugle)
@Brooke I got to meet Peter Reynolds in person when I went to Boston with the DEN. He is awesome.

23:55 - Peggy George
don't worry if you can't read this--we'll see all of it on the website and you can click on anything

24:28 - Carolyn Stanley
We are getting ready to rewrite our technology plan this year, and this matrix plus the p21 website will be very helpful.

24:32 - Peggy George
the lesson video examples are really helpful!

24:45 - Susan van Gelder
Love the fact that video is included

24:48 - @plnaugle(Paula Naugle)
My students are loving the fact that I put all of their assignments on Edmodo.

24:52 - @dabambic
What a fabulous resource!

25:00 - Peggy George
Super idea Paula!!

25:03 - Oronoque
this would be a nice way to construct a rubric for students, with the video links

25:40 - Peggy George
yes Oronoque!! love that idea! it would be fun to ask students to watch a video and decide what level it is--great to do with other teachers too

25:40 - Carolyn Stanley
This is why I LOVE classroom2.0 - so many resources I might never know about without this wonderful guided learning webinar.

26:14 - @plnaugle(Paula Naugle)
I put a great YouTube video about 9/11 and the assignment was to watch it with their parents and then ask their parents to share with them where they were when they heard about the attacks. It was a great home-school connection lesson.

26:22 - Teeech94
i agree Carolyn!(r)

26:27 - Peggy George
thanks Carolyn! That's exactly our goal on Classroom 2.0 LIVE!! to find and share great tech resources for educators!

26:44 - Carolyn Stanley
@Paula- that was an inspired assignment.

26:59 - Peggy George
it's great to have a starting point and then it's easier to adapt the lessons :-)

27:13 - Oronoque
Classroom 2.0 LIVE is great for us 12+ folk too

27:32 - zmidler
I find that reluctant teachers will use the fact that we don't have a specific use case scenario for their area as a reason to dismiss a tool like this.

27:43 - Peggy George
this is a very user-friendly design--easy to move between the resources

27:53 - Peggy George
so true zmidler!!!

28:18 - Peggy George
even though these are based on AZ standards I'm sure you all have very similar standards!

28:39 - Peggy George
the links to the actual materials are fantastic!

28:41 - Carolyn Stanley
Oh - here is a resource for Reba!

28:59 - kburnett
The videos are great and model some great teaching strategies beyond tech integration.

29:12 - Sally
This gives me a great way to acutlly move forward. Often hard to know where to go next

29:13 - GregL 1
Can anyone use this site and these lesson plans?

29:13 - Amy Chayefsky
True Peggy, in addition ot clraifyin what is meantby the vaired levels and whatit looks like, it offers practical and authentic views and lessons for our own implementation or modification! Immediate take-aways!!! The relevance is already developed, we don't have to totally find our own relevance...

29:16 - zmidler
You almost need to have an "idea generator" next to a lesson for say writing that used a tech component and a pop up menu if ideas for how this could be tweaked for math or science--sorry, thinking out loud.

29:18 - @ChadKafka
Great resources all compacted together in one place.

29:21 - Carolyn Stanley
Hey, reba - you are here! That looks good.

29:30 - Peggy George
you could take any one of these lessons and add your own resources to it that teachers in your school are using

29:53 - Peggy George
when we are in the web tour Cherie will guide us but you can also click on things

29:54 - @plnaugle(Paula Naugle)
Great YouTube video abt primary and secondary sources using clips and resources about 9/11 is the video I embedded on Edmodo so kids it at home.

29:58 - Peggy George
web tour is perfect for this

30:52 - @plnaugle(Paula Naugle)
Cherie, I know how you feel. It is nerve wrecking when you are live. You are doinga great job.

31:09 - Kim Flack
these are fantastic resources!

31:17 - Oronoque
make sure its rate G...heehee

31:33 - Peggy George
we just never know what will pop up!!!

31:35 - Peggy George

31:36 - Carolyn Stanley
@Cherie - I know what you mean about forgetting stuff when you are live! I totally forgot to mention our great 8th grade integrated technology experiment we do at the end of the year - totally slipped my mind.

31:49 - elaine matheny
still looks like pheonix

31:49 - Peggy George
you can all scroll down and across this page and click on any links

31:52 - TerriReh
Paula have you used StoryCorp for 911. They are attempting to get an audio story from every family involved in 911.

31:52 - elaine matheny
did not change

32:10 - blairteach
I'm only seeing the main page

32:21 - McTeach (Karen)
All this talk of The Matrix makes me think of Keanu Reeves! :)

32:28 - @plnaugle(Paula Naugle)
@Carolyn you had so much great stuff to share that I can imagine it was easy to forget some.

32:29 - @ChadKafka
Great iPad 9/11 app just released. Though the videos are "raw" and you can hear some cursing going on occasionally. Good resource, but be careful with students.

32:45 - sroseman
sorry i have to leave ..thanks

32:54 - SusanSi
my page is white

32:56 - Peggy George
I lost the web tour--are you all seeing it

33:02 - Peggy George
hit return again Cherie

33:07 - Lorie Moffat
Seeing part of main page

33:07 - @plnaugle(Paula Naugle)
@TerriReh No, I haven't heard of it. Thanks for sharing.

33:11 - @ChadKafka
i see the web tour

33:11 - McTeach (Karen)
Peggy...I'm still seeing it

33:13 - Carolyn Stanley
@paula -thanks so much! I enjoyed it, but I'm glad it's over!

33:14 - Kristie G
what do we click again??

33:17 - Kristie G

33:17 - Peggy George
ok thanks

33:20 - @Len_Horn
repeat location again, please Cherie

33:22 - Sally
love this matrix provides a way to assess the success of our Aisi project

33:25 - zmidler
screen is frozen on intro page

33:36 - @Len_Horn

33:53 - TerriReh
Oh this is so cool Cherie!

33:54 - Kristie G
Mine is on the intro page as well

33:56 - Peggy George
can you see it now? I refreshed it

34:07 - TerriReh
Lemonade Stand

34:16 - SusanSi

34:22 - Michelle L. Holstein

34:26 - Carolyn Stanley
got it -

34:28 - SusanSi

34:28 - Peggy George

34:32 - @ChadKafka
Can you say again which one we should go to?

34:33 - silvana 2
i can't see

34:36 - Lucian
Dear members of #liveclass20 PLN kindly I invite all to join free here #edtech20 #socialmedia #curation project

34:39 - Kristie G
then adaptation

34:40 - Peggy George
if you don't see it in the web tour you can go to the link in your browser

34:41 - clinds
It's playing here!

34:46 - elaine matheny
okay here

34:46 - Peggy George
yes we can click on play

34:58 - Susan van Gelder
I think too many people are accessing it at the same time - very slow in my browser

35:00 - AdamFerguson
I am playing it fine...

35:02 - Peggy George
we can play videos in web tour if we click on play

35:05 - Teeech94
playing here

35:09 - Mary Ann
Working fine for me.

35:09 - Carolyn Stanley
I'm playing it just fine!

35:13 - zmidler

35:13 - Peggy George

35:29 - Oronoque

35:30 - stidmama
works for me, too

35:32 - roxanne
great video

35:32 - @ChadKafka
which one do you want us to look at?

35:33 - Carolyn Stanley
It fininshed for me!

35:42 - Mary Ann

35:49 - Oronoque
Classroom 2.0 LIVE!!

35:50 - @ChadKafka

35:55 - Peggy George
constructive, characteristic of learning, adaptation level, 5-8 lesson

35:59 - @Len_Horn
Constructive>Adaptation>5-8 lesson

35:59 - blairteach
Worked great. Love the video clips.

36:10 - Lynn Castiglione
mine is working great, thanks!:)

36:14 - reba @jghfoundation08 1
great video

36:15 - Peggy George

36:17 - Oronoque

36:20 - Debbie
watching now

36:21 - @Len_Horn

36:22 - Oronoque

36:23 - Carolyn Stanley
Some of our students have played Lemonaid Stand and enjoyed it - not the whole unit but just an afternoon activity.

36:23 - Teeech94
finished here- kids looked like they were having a good time!

36:25 - Peggy George
these links are in the Livebinder too

36:36 - Peggy George

36:56 - zmidler
@terrireh--GApps Spreadsheet lesson that could also include Docs for a business plan and reflection?

37:17 - Susan van Gelder
Important to put the activity in a context - not just play the game. I like the use of spreadsheets and reflection

37:42 - Kristie G
Are there lessons for K-4??

37:57 - reba @jghfoundation08 1
What a comprehensive site. wow!

38:05 - Peggy George

38:07 - @ChadKafka
Is there a way to see the Lesson Titles (like BUILD YOUR OWN BUSINESS) all in one place? Would be easy to share with specific content teachers looking for lessons for their particular areas.

38:10 - @plnaugle(Paula Naugle)
I have kids play Lemonade Stand and we graph how much money they make each day on a graph. They love to compete to see who can make the most money. Great for economics unit.

38:34 - @ChadKafka
Right -- still great! Was just curious. Thanks

38:35 - Peggy George
when you view the lesson plan you see all the details

38:38 - @Len_Horn

38:50 - Peggy George

38:56 - Carolyn Stanley
Someone should work on adding that index to the matrix. It really would be helpful and shouldn't be too hard to do.

39:17 - Peggy George
I love the links shared in the materials section!

39:28 - zmidler
I am curious what is required to maintain the TIM? What's it built in? This must be a big team effort, right?

39:29 - SusanSi
excellent quality

39:42 - Oronoque
they have such great equipment...I am sooooo jealous

39:42 - @Len_Horn

39:43 - Peggy George
great question zmidler! we'll ask her at the end

39:48 - blairteach
Difficult to watch video while you're talking; both audio tracks play.

39:49 - Carolyn Stanley
Wow! That is a short deadline!

39:50 - Lucian
Peggy I also make a livebinder for #edtech20 #socialmedia #curation project

40:06 - TerriReh
Agreed, such great quality

40:21 - Peggy George
it always takes using a tool for awhile to decide what other changes/improvements/tools are needed

40:29 - clinds
I tried using Sketchup with students last year. I found it didn't come very easily to me but luckily (and not surprisingly) a lot of students picked it up really fast and showed other students.

40:36 - Peggy George

40:46 - Peggy George
go back to the home page to do that

41:02 - Brenda Nelson
The concept here is not to just get ideas for lessons but to aid in our reflection of where I am at. When I see these different examples I am able to see HOW I can get to that level.

41:09 - Carolyn Stanley
Our tech teacher uses Sketch-Up extensively with his students, and they love it.

41:20 - TerriReh
Clinds I am teaching Google Apps to MS this year and every lesson I teach they fly right by cool.

41:23 - zmidler
The user friendly structure for curation is what is key here--if we can't have Hollywood qaulity videos oh well. Don't let perfect get in the way of better.

41:23 - Cherie Stafford
Watch a video clip of your wn choosing.

41:28 - Peggy George
great point Brenda!

42:03 - Carolyn Stanley
I'm watching Journey to America

42:13 - TerriReh
T3 - a School dress code vid on Authentic Learning Entry Level

42:18 - Peggy George
so true!! the videos just need to make a point about the level of usage and what it looks like :-) it would be fun to have other teachers create their own videos for each level

42:35 - AdamFerguson
Authentic 4b could be used as a cross-disiplinary unit with ELA... Reading "Maus," for example.

42:37 - Cherie Stafford
Good idea, Peggy!

42:47 - @ChadKafka
@clinds I used Sketchup with MS Math Students. I made tutorials to help SHOW the students along the way what to do. THey had to measure and make a model of their classroom and then also make a building. Here's the playlist of videos I created if this helps:

42:52 - AdamFerguson

43:02 - Carolyn Stanley
I'm really liking this lesson on immigration - and I'll bet some of my teachers can adapt it.

43:04 - Peggy George
moving on :-) you can all explore these further on your own later!

43:05 - Brenda Nelson
Yes, we could expand these examples and create a database of many lesson ideas.

43:14 - @plnaugle(Paula Naugle)
That's what I was thinking, Peggy. Each teacher should be creating videos.

43:17 - Amy Chayefsky
Goal directed learning!!!

43:23 - blairteach
What a terrific resource!

43:39 - SusanSi
love the links w/in the lesson plan

43:41 - clinds
@ChadKafka - Thank you SO much! These videos will be great. I really want to get better at Sketchup and now this will help!!

43:46 - Peggy George
and even students could create their short videos showing their level of tech usage and put it in an eportfolio :-)

43:48 - Amy Chayefsky
Deepening the wiki, not just an interactive 'webpage'... great

43:54 - MaryFran
Is there an online class that can help me learn how to do this in my classroom?

43:54 - SusanSi
yes! our teachers need to see this

44:07 - Carolyn Stanley
@ChadKafka - thank! I'll pass that link onto my tech teacher.

44:14 - Lynn Castiglione
Cherie, this is a timely reminder, because the beginning of school can be overwhelming, it's great to get a refresher on advantages of tech integration

44:20 - stidmama
I love having these models to help me think about tech in content areas

44:28 - Peggy George
they are also beginning to work on developing rubrics for the levels so we have that to look forward to. Florida is also working on rubrics :-)

44:34 - clinds
This year I'm hoping to develop a video library of short videos that show great uses of technology that are happening in different classrooms.

44:39 - elaine matheny
This will really help me to get a discussion going with my teachers!

44:41 - AdamFerguson
Our classroom Ning...

44:41 - @plnaugle(Paula Naugle)
For school PD - share one of these each time we have a faculty meeting. Start at Entry levle and dscuss how to get everyone on that level.

44:43 - TerriReh
Agreed stidmama

45:08 - zmidler
T3--we need to have Flip cameras & iPhones should be strapped to our hips so we can capture the work in realtime for rebroadcast.

45:13 - Peggy George
I like that there isn't a "MUST" level--it's just a guide to show us where we can go next--our choice

45:32 - @plnaugle(Paula Naugle)
I'm sending this resource link to my principal today.

45:44 - Peggy George
love that idea Paula!!! great, short intro for a faculty meeting to get the conversation going. very non-threatening

45:50 - TerriReh
ZM strting with our Blabberize project

46:23 - Carolyn Stanley
@paula - that is exactly what our principal - started with me presenting a new tech integration lesson example - then I suggested he have the teachers themselves present -a great way for staff to become aware of what is going on in the school - we are so often so isolated, we don't know what is going on in other classrooms.

46:24 - Peggy George
there is something for everyone!!! it takes away the excuses :-)

46:35 - zmidler
It would be good to have a goal per team level--1st grade will have a goal of achieving Adoption this year, 5th's goal is Adaption, etc.?

46:55 - TerriReh
Yes, excuses...

47:15 - @plnaugle(Paula Naugle)
I like to take my 20th century lessons and figure at how I can make them 21st century lessons by using a web tool.

47:20 - Sandy C.
Although we are on work to rule right now here in BC, I can see showing this as an afterschool lesson for my colleagues. We are given tools but no instruction here. Just expected to 'learn on our own'. Classroom Live has been my DREAM COME TRUE!!!!!

47:24 - kburnett
@zmidler We can also look at our tech project throughout the year and see if it can take each of our teams along the matrix.

47:28 - clinds
@zmidler - The only thing is that I find that teachers within a grade level are at such different levels on this matrix.

47:30 - Peggy George
I'm not sure I would want to structure a goal per grade level--I love that teachers can make that decision for themselves and then share with others

47:34 - Brenda Nelson
Takes away the excuses and puts the power/responsibility in our hands!

47:57 - Brenda Nelson
I like the concept of doing this at least once this year

48:06 - Peggy George
it's so easy to become overwhelmed and this really helps you to focus on one thing/one lesson/one level

48:08 - @Len_Horn
Yes, @plnaugle, that is the take what we already have and convert and expand

48:13 - TerriReh
Entry level OREO Project! That project should be in TIM

48:27 - Peggy George
so true Terri!

48:35 - clinds
@Peggy George - I agree about limiting structure but think it's good to have 2 or 3 projects that integrate technology across a grade level so you know all the students in that grade are having the same opportunity.

48:35 - stidmama
sometimes entry level or adoption level are what's right for the students, too: learning a brand-new tech for example, or when first introducing a concept.

48:37 - Sally
perhaps the challenge to staff is to just move up ONE level

48:44 - Peggy George
yes Sally!!!! I agree!

48:52 - Carolyn Stanley
That is exactly how we got started - each team in each middle school had to do at least one curricular activity that included using collaboration and web 2.0 tools - and then it spread! Now each team does multiple lessons using these tools and goals.

48:55 - Sandy C.
These videos are fabulous to see WHAT the levels look like.

48:58 - @plnaugle(Paula Naugle)
I agree @Terri It is a great project to start with. Easy to do and the kids love it.

49:01 - Kristie G
I agree Cherie!!

49:05 - zmidler
@clinds very true but the same is true for our students--we still have to set a goal, have high expectations

49:12 - Susan van Gelder
It's not just about integrating technology - it's about changing the way we teach

49:20 - Peggy George
If you have questions for Cherie please type them here and Lorie will ask them for you

49:38 - stidmama
is it possible to teach the new tech (new to students) AND have it be transformative?

50:00 - @plnaugle(Paula Naugle)
I remember my first Skype call being a disaster, but I learned so much from it and kept trying. Now Skyping is so easy for me.

50:05 - Sally
do you have to spend time teaching the tool first? and then go on to the task?

50:06 - Peggy George
love that question

50:07 - Susan van Gelder
So it's not just about adding technology to what one always did - it is seeing how technology can transform a classroom

50:13 - @shamblesguru
time to unlearn

50:20 - Carolyn Stanley
@Susan - I agree - even just making webcasts with directions that kids can follow at their own pace instead of trying to teach to the whole class has been transformative for me.

50:23 - zmidler
Or--look or others that can help you, collaborate, draw in other expertise, it doesn't have to be all on that Entry level teacher's shoulders.

50:25 - TerriReh
Cherie, how can we add to TIM or suggest additions that exist?

50:31 - Brenda Nelson
When I look at the examples of lessons, most of the infusion & transformation examples are 4th grade & above. Can primary, K-1, get there or are the students not developmentally ready for that??

50:31 - @ChadKafka
This was great. Have to leave early unfortunatley. Thanks for the sharing of resources.

50:31 - Peggy George
you can use a new tool in transformative ways once you know how they work :-)

50:47 - Sandy C.
Paula, are you in Canada?

50:51 - Kristie G
Teachers need to learn first before teaching students!

51:00 - stidmama
yes, completely new tool -- we used a webbing tool last year in 5th grade to generate outlines, and the kids took almost as much time to figure out the interface as it did for them to actually do the thinking

51:02 - Peggy George
good point Kristie

51:09 - @plnaugle(Paula Naugle)
Students are the easy ones- it's the teachers that are the hard ones to get using a tool because they think they have to be an expert.

51:17 - @tracywatanabe
Do you find that teachers move over levels from left to right in all the different characteristics at the same time? ie entry to adoption in all areas, or does it depend on characteristic

51:18 - TerriReh
Paula is everywhere :)

51:19 - elaine matheny
That is so true! it is not the technology, it is having students work together positively.

51:26 - Debbie
Take a chance. Allow your studetns to teach you

51:32 - Peggy George
I know that I need to become comfortable with the tool before I can use it in new ways

51:46 - Carolyn Stanley
@Kristie G - I respectfully disagree -some of our students have started using a tool and then showed it to the teacher and taught them.

52:10 - Peggy George
there are so many standards, skills, objectives that can be addressed in these lessons

52:11 - Kristie G
Oh Carolyn, I agree...

52:15 - Susan van Gelder
@Carolyn Stanley - so true

52:23 - @plnaugle(Paula Naugle)
I learn so much from my students as they learn the bells and whistles of a tool. I let them demo to the rest of the class.

52:26 - clinds
@Carolyn - I totally agree! I think we adults have to be willing to admit to students that we don't know something and ask them to figure it out and show eachother!

52:29 - Carolyn Stanley
For example - kids took to Prezi and started using aspects of the tool that I hadn't even discovered.

52:34 - Sandy C.
Paula you are so right, the kids usually learn and know so much more than we do (us grey-haired ones:) I am always hesitant to use tech when I don't know.

52:37 - Lucian
I find reelapp and I upload my #edtech20 presentation after my #MMVC11 online class on wiziq and I like this app

52:41 - Susan van Gelder
And even if the first time it takes some students a while to adapt to the tool - the next time will be easier.

52:56 - Brenda Nelson
Cherie, Can K-1 get to the infusion - transformation levels?

52:57 - Peggy George
would anyone like to take the mic to share an idea or comment? raise your hand and we'll give you the mic

53:02 - reba @jghfoundation08 1
prof dev and small group PLNs

53:08 - @plnaugle(Paula Naugle)
TIM could be great at home PD.

53:19 - AdamFerguson
Also part of pre-service education.

53:24 - @shamblesguru

53:26 - Sandy C.
Prof. Deve. and then teachers get to SEE what it looks like

53:35 - @tracywatanabe
I used it to show my teachers I frequently work with. It helps them set their goals.

53:41 - stidmama
If I were an AZ teacher I would love to see still more lessons made available on the TIM -- art curricula, or music, for example

53:42 - reba @jghfoundation08 1
differientiated PD for teachers , this will help those beginners to take that plunge

53:44 - elaine matheny
any suggestions on how to use the TIM? I am all ears

53:44 - Kadidia Doumbia
Definitelt PD

53:49 - clinds
Students assume we don't know a lot about technology so they aren't suprised or critical when we say we don't know. They expect to have to show us - that's what they do at home!

53:50 - Peggy George
Click on talk kgrade1

53:52 - Sally
Also a good way to narrow down the goal "I need to get better at tech integration"

53:56 - @plnaugle(Paula Naugle)
@Adam yes, preservice teachers would really benefit from seeing these videos.

54:02 - kgradel
sorry mic not working

54:10 - Brenda Nelson
We are going to share this with each grade level and have teachers assess where they are at and set a personal goal for this year.

54:27 - @Len_Horn
Yes, we can

54:31 - @tracywatanabe

54:32 - reba @jghfoundation08 1

54:37 - Carolyn Stanley

54:38 - Peggy George

54:42 - Lucian

54:54 - McTeach (Karen)
Computer is having a melt-down. Will have to quit. Thanks for all the great info!

54:59 - Sally
especially those older more reluctant teachers

55:00 - Peggy George
this will be a fantastic tool for pre-service teachers because it really helps to see the examples

55:20 - Peggy George
super idea @kgrade1

55:24 - @tracywatanabe
Great idea!

55:33 - Susan van Gelder
I think it is a great tool for current teachers to help them set goals for themselves

55:34 - Peggy George
the students can look for similar examples in their field placements :-)

55:44 - kgradel
Good point, Peggy!!

55:51 - @Len_Horn
Cherie, we will be building a PD with our Media Teachers around this for later this mont.

55:53 - @tracywatanabe

55:54 - elaine matheny

55:55 - Mary Ann

55:59 - SusanSi
this older teacher is seeing reluctant in younger teachers

56:02 - AdamFerguson
In my case, this is one of the seminars required for the course I am taking- ENG 506: Digital Literacy and the Teaching of English...

56:21 - Sally
@ susan sometimes very risky for newer staff

56:44 - elaine matheny
Yes i agree, the younger teachers are sometimes insecure about new things

56:53 - Peggy George
nothing wrong with talking heads--we all have learned great things from those :-)

56:54 - @dabambic
I will be doing pretty much the same thing Carolyn.

57:10 - Peggy George
you are all sharing such fantastic ideas in the chat! thank you!!

57:11 - Teeech94
good suggestion

57:13 - reba @jghfoundation08 1
good morning Carolyn!

57:18 - @dabambic
I really love the authentic-infusion 9-12 video on Tolerance

57:28 - Peggy George
let's have Lorie take the mic to ask her questions from the chat

57:29 - zmidler
The Technology Transfer Team (T3) at Flagstaff Academy will use the TIM to provide structure and curation to our efforts to evangelize edtech integration. More importantly this is a tool that will provide real use case scenarios for teachers--the content is teacher and student driven.

57:42 - Carolyn Stanley
hi, reba -I've found some stuff - examples for you.

57:55 - TerriReh
Someone looking for K3 tech

58:23 - Carolyn Stanley
@Peggy -if I share a folder with Reba's email address can she see what's in it even if she doesn't have a dropbox account?

59:00 - Peggy George
no she needs a dropbox account-but free

59:01 - Carolyn Stanley
Oh - will you repeat that again?

59:30 - Carolyn Stanley
will we be able to access the matrix and the videos after the show? I didn't understand what you said we can't access.

59:32 - Peggy George
these standards are on the AZ Dept of Ed site and the PDF is in the Livebinder

59:36 - MJ
I wish there was a .doc of this resource along with the .pdf

59:40 - Peggy George
so you can download it

59:45 - @dabambic
Can we get the link for this?

1:00:00 - @Len_Horn
Yes Peggy

1:00:01 - Mary Ann
can you share the website for AZ dept of ed?

1:00:05 - @plnaugle(Paula Naugle)
I think younger teachers don't see tech as an integral part of lesson planning, they think of tech as an add-on and they are overwhelmed with everyting else they are doing that they don't feel they have time to learn tech.

1:00:07 - Peggy George

1:00:15 - Carolyn Stanley
@MJ -if you upload the .pdg to Google, it will do optical character recognition and convert it to an editable document.

1:00:22 - Peggy George
both PDF and Word

1:00:32 - SusanSi
many are so busy raising kids!

1:00:40 - LorFehr
Thanks for sharing this amazing document!

1:00:40 - kgradel
@pnaugle: I totally agree...but they are ripe to learn the right stuff.

1:00:41 - MJ
See the Word doc, Thanks

1:00:49 - Carolyn Stanley
Cherie - you sound just like me!!!!!!

1:00:49 - blairteach
Thank you for sharing this information with us.

1:00:49 - Amy Chayefsky
LOL Cherie, there is more but you did an AMAZING job!!!! Thanks

1:01:01 - Teeech94
Thank you very much Cherie- very informative you were awesome!

1:01:02 - Carolyn Stanley
This was great, Cherie - thanks so much.

1:01:04 - Sandy C.

1:01:11 - TerriReh
See you Monday Cherie

1:01:21 - Debbie
Thanks for the informatiion

1:01:24 - gdebenport
Thank you Cherie! That was great!

1:01:26 - @dabambic
This was really helpful. Thanks Cherie.

1:01:30 - Susan van Gelder
@plnaugle I think plenty of older teachers feel overwhelmed by technology. They have to learn to let go of some control and learn from their students. Teachers have the pedagogical knowledge, but students may have the tech knowledge.

1:01:35 - Cherie Stafford
Thank-you all SO MUCH for participating!!!

1:01:37 - zmidler
Very validating--thank Cherie & I look forward to chatting w/you on Monday.

1:01:41 - @plnaugle(Paula Naugle)
Thank you, Cherie for sharing this with us. Virtual applause for you.

1:01:48 - Lynn Castiglione
Great job, Cherie and thanks Peggy, and evryone!

1:01:48 - stidmama
thank you so much! A lot of food for thought. (r)

1:01:54 - Susan van Gelder
This was great - thank you

1:02:12 - Carolyn Stanley
2:00 am - that's real dedication.

1:02:18 - Sue 1
Thanks! The website is amazing and I will be checking out more videos.

1:02:34 - @plnaugle(Paula Naugle)
Jan Wells and I submitted our proposal for the K12 Online Conference.

1:02:43 - Sandy C.
Anyone out there want to Skype with a class of Gr. 5s first year French as Second language????

1:02:46 - Carolyn Stanley
Oh, I met Daryl after that conference.

1:02:48 - zmidler
Will Aviva be on the Oct. 1 talk?

1:03:08 - akelley
Thank you! This is wonderful information and I can't wait to explore the site even more!

1:03:39 - Sally
This has been SO GREAT! Love how much I learn on Classroom live.

1:03:40 - zmidler
T3 members--please complete a survey and get me a copy of cert. thanks!

1:03:59 - SusanSi
thanks so much!!!!

1:04:16 - Lucian
Keep in touch : )!/web20education

1:04:16 - Kim Flack
thank you so much!!

1:04:24 - @plnaugle(Paula Naugle)
Zmidler How many people do you have attending this session? Great idea to come as a group.

1:04:26 - sara russell
Thank you very much !!

1:04:40 - aclemos

1:04:50 - Carolyn Stanley
I caught a little of it last year - Is Adora still moderating it?

1:04:51 - Peggy George

1:04:53 - TerriReh
Paula we should have 5 of our T3 members

1:05:15 - TerriReh
Zoe has us working from the TIM

1:05:25 - elaine matheny
where do i find the survey?

1:05:27 - @plnaugle(Paula Naugle)
@zmidler That is great. Wish I could convince others at my school to do this.

1:05:28 - zmidler
@plnaugle today there were 5 of us attending

1:05:28 - clinds
@Sandy C - I'm interested! Are you on Twitter? I'm @clinds

1:05:51 - elaine matheny

1:05:51 - zmidler
T3 members thanks again for taking time out to listen, lurk and learn today!

1:05:52 - Amy Chayefsky
Thanks all!!!

1:05:59 - Sandy C.
@clinds- no, just Skype from school.

1:06:00 - Carolyn Stanley
@reba - I put a private message in for you -there should be a tab at the bottom of your chat panel.

1:06:08 - YelenaBrachman

1:06:13 - Peggy George
I'm so appreciative that Lorie was collecting questions for us

1:06:22 - Peggy George
yes the slides were really place holders :-)

1:06:36 - Peggy George
everything on the slides is also on the web site and in the Livebinder

1:07:01 - reba @jghfoundation08 1
@carolyn - I responded

1:07:11 - stidmama
my question was answered --

1:07:12 - Susan van Gelder
The context was the items at the side

1:07:13 - Peggy George
go ahead and answer Cherie

1:07:14 - Michelle L. Holstein
what was the livebinder link again?

1:07:28 - Susan van Gelder
Have to go - thanks

1:07:33 - Peggy George

1:07:40 - Peggy George
thank you all for joining us!!

1:07:44 - zmidler
@plnaugle have a wonderfully motivated, dedicated, and inspired group of teachers in the T3--very little convincing is required for them to improve their edtech acumen.

1:07:51 - clinds
@Sandy C - just wondering if you wanted to use Twitter for us to get in touch about collaborating with 5th graders.

1:08:02 - Peggy George
the matrix can be used anywhere in the world :-) you just need to align your standards with it

1:08:13 - Michelle L. Holstein
Thank you!!

1:08:23 - Kristie G
Yes, I did find those lessons!! Thanks!!

1:08:25 - Peggy George
love that question about maintaing the TIM!

1:08:55 - Peggy George
now it will have to be a volunteer effort to maintain the matrix :-)

1:09:28 - AdamFerguson
Thank you all, back to work....

1:09:39 - Peggy George
there are tons of online classes and webinars and conferences that you can learn about how to do these things in your classroom

1:09:46 - Kristie G
The Intel classes are great! Taking one now!!!

1:09:57 - zmidler
@cheriestafford thnxs for the maintenance response--I am considering a Wikispaces TIM.

1:09:58 - Peggy George
we try to tell you about lots of them in these Saturday webinars

1:10:06 - @plnaugle(Paula Naugle)
zmiidler Having so many learning together is wonderful. I have learned so much from these sessions and I talk about it all the time, but all the teachers at my school think I'm crazy to spend Saturday mornings doing this PD.

1:10:10 - YelenaBrachman
T3 has anyone seen these free intell classes?

1:10:10 - MaryFran
thanks. I'm in CA, so I'll check out the Intel classes

1:10:15 - Peggy George
we try to focus on the free stuff :-)

1:10:31 - @plnaugle(Paula Naugle)
Yes, check out the Intel courses.

1:10:50 - Peggy George
the great thing is that if you can't make it on a Saturday you can always watch the recording and check out the links in the archives and resources.

1:10:53 - clinds
Quick mini-lessons right before students use the tool.

1:11:01 - Peggy George

1:11:07 - MaryFran
Paule - totally relate to you and your staff

1:11:07 - @plnaugle(Paula Naugle) Intel courses.

1:11:19 - Peggy George
you could easily modify the TIM for your own purposes

1:11:29 - Peggy George
then tell us all about it!!

1:11:33 - reba @jghfoundation08 1
Great webinar Cherie. This is a valuable resource for me to share with the staff

1:11:38 - TerriReh
ZM Build a FSA TIM

1:11:48 - Brooke Mulartrick @brooker1015
Who was part of the team that created your TIM? Sorry if you already said this.

1:11:55 - zmidler
@yelenabrachman yes, I've seen the Intel stuff could be 2012-2013 T3 goal after we complete our Google Individ. Cert process.

1:12:07 - Peggy George
great question Brooke! she didn't mention that

1:12:25 - @plnaugle(Paula Naugle)
@MaryFran It is so hard to convince others that this is what me must be doing and we have to spend some of our own time learning.

1:12:55 - @plnaugle(Paula Naugle)
Sorry should say we not me.

1:13:14 - MaryFran
@Paula, that's why have

1:13:16 - reba @jghfoundation08 1
@MaryFran I agree, but you will have to do some great modeling and side by side teaching with them

1:13:26 - virginia alberti #2
peggy i have a problem with the download; I'm not able to save the whiteboard file in pdf

1:13:32 - Peggy George
you could use the videos as talking points to start conversations--just getting teachers to think about the possibilities

1:13:41 - reba @jghfoundation08 1
Exactly Cherie - having them set goals is a great start

1:13:43 - MaryFran
@Paula that's why having an online community is so valuable

1:13:53 - @dabambic
The calendar on the Classroom 2.0 website doesn't list Zoe Branigan Pipe or the Unplugd sessions. Can you repeat these dates please?

1:13:57 - @plnaugle(Paula Naugle)
I see this resource as being part of each school's professional library for the teachers to access.

1:14:11 - Peggy George
@virginia-maybe once you log out of Blackboard Collaborate you will be able to download it

1:14:11 - Carolyn Stanley
I did a whole week of Intel training, but I never got to use their tools - Google apps for Education kind of supplanted them

1:14:17 - roxanne
Peggy, I agree...using the video clips to stimulate discussion would be a great frist step without overwhelming teachers

1:14:37 - reba @jghfoundation08 1
@cherie do you have a twitter tag

1:14:45 - Carolyn Stanley
Great - glad it's there -

1:14:48 - virginia alberti #2
thanks Peggy. I'll try!

1:15:04 - Peggy George

1:15:15 - Cherie Stafford

1:15:25 - Carolyn Stanley
Oh - maybe Arizona, like TED , will decide someday to share it out with others in other states.

1:15:32 - Peggy George
I added some links to the Livebinder for you with research and resources to support technology integrations. I hope those will be helpful to you too

1:15:43 - Peggy George
thank you so much Cherie! This has been fantastic!

1:15:47 - @Len_Horn
what was the class you are teaching in Oct, Cherie?

1:15:47 - @plnaugle(Paula Naugle)
How about setting up a competition at your school - the first grade level to watch and video a lesson they do wins a gift certificate to a teacher supply store?

1:16:03 - TerriReh
Oh Paula, what a great idea

1:16:04 - MaryFran
Thanks so much for sharing this with us. We appreciate the opportunity to learn from you.

1:16:05 - Peggy George Great link in the livebinder!
