Not in the classroom

04:11 - Peggy George
I don't have a classroom but I use blended learning with teachers :-)

04:12 - stidmama
not entirely sure what blended learning is... so probably not

04:17 - Kim T AZ a school with the program, not officially teaching there

04:18 - Nai Wang

04:19 - Toni Plourde
if you count the hours that my student and I spend at the computer

04:24 - @bcdtech Maureen
DOn't have my own classroom this year... more tech integration than blended

04:26 - Toni Olivieri-Barton @toniobarton
I missed the last EdCamp in Denver because of the snow. But the one before that landed me a keynote at a schools tech saturday!

04:27 - Peggy George
great knowing about your experiences!! :-)

04:46 - Peggy George
Lots of great resources in our Livebinder today!

05:08 - Peggy George
Yeah!!! Huge kudos to Paula for facilitating this conversation today!!!

05:21 - Nai Wang
Full disclosure. I’ an education technology developer. I’ here to learn what everyone is doing so I can make better tools for my teachers.

05:33 - rtxenja 1
think jam session, everyone gets to share

05:34 - Peggy George
love it @Nai!!! Thanks

05:39 - Toni Olivieri-Barton @toniobarton
But we can stay in our P.J.s!

05:50 - @bcdtech Maureen
Thanks Nai- always good to open up lines of communication

05:52 - Peggy George

06:00 - Peggy George
Welcome to everyone joining us!

06:26 - Nai Wang
I always find these sessions inspiring. I get awesome ideas from everyone!

06:28 - Peggy George
When Paula asks the questions you will raise your hand if you'd like to take the mic to speak and she'll call on you :-)

06:51 - Tammy Moore
part online and part face to face

06:53 - Peggy George
yes yes yes!!! we want to hear from all of you!! raise your hand to share :-)

07:01 - Kim T AZ
First thought....there are soooo many definitions of this term

07:10 - rtxenja 1
totally agree with you Tammy

07:23 - Peggy George
a number will appear by your name when you raise your hand and Paula will call on you

07:33 - Peggy George
hooray!! love PD in PJs!

07:40 - @plnaugle (Paula)
Love PD in my Pjs.

08:05 - Toni Olivieri-Barton @toniobarton
Maybe we can rename it that: PD in PJs!

08:09 - Doug Henry
Is flipped learning a kind of blended learning?

08:13 - Peggy George
how do you define blended learning?

08:45 - Peggy George
it definitely is Doug! We even included some flipped learning resources in our Livebinder today :-)

08:50 - @bcdtech Maureen
I like this video that shows the difference between tech integration and blended learning

08:57 - Peggy George
Thank you Tammy and Toni for getting us started!

09:04 - Doug Henry - Emerging Ed Tech link on Free Blended Learning Resources

09:13 - Kim T AZ
Are we talking about blended learning for adults or students or both?

09:16 - Peggy George
That is a fantastic video Maureen! I added it to the Livebinder :-)

09:22 - Tammy Moore

09:27 - Peggy George
blended learning for anyone--both adults and kids

09:31 - Nai Wang
We are in the information age. Knowledge can be gained easily through many other means. We are now shifting to apprenticeship or scholarship models of education where face time is spent analyzing the information, perfecting the understanding and applying the knowledge base.

09:32 - Toni Olivieri-Barton @toniobarton
Thanks Maureen!

09:50 - rtxenja 1
yeah!! love and use Edmodo (for those who have access) -- we don't get lab access so cannot make as much use as I would like

09:52 - Peggy George
thank you for adding links to the chat for blended learning resources and we'll add them to the Livebinder after the show

10:11 - Toni Olivieri-Barton @toniobarton
Even kidblogging could be considered blended learning. Our students do a lot at home.

10:18 - Peggy George
some teachers think blended learning means multi-age classrooms but they are not the same thing

10:36 - Peggy George
not hearing you Maureen

10:38 - Lorie Moffat
Click on takl Maureen

10:44 - Peggy George
hearing now

10:49 - Toni Olivieri-Barton @toniobarton
Yes. I miss that voice!!!!

11:32 - Peggy George
it is a perfect way to personalize learning! great point Maureen!

11:37 - Toni Olivieri-Barton @toniobarton
Differentiation is easier with blended learning!

11:38 - rtxenja 1
Like the apprenticeship/scholarship model idea --- if students could get to apply information to their interests, think it would excite them to learn and understand they can "learn" now and later

11:43 - Doug Henry
Personalization is something online learning badly needs...

11:54 - Peggy George
totally agree Doug!

12:06 - rtxenja 1
So true Doug

12:11 - Tammy Moore
Shy ones love the time to think before sharing

12:12 - Kim T AZ
Very appreciative of the Livebinder created each week by Peggy....I don't have to try to stop and bookmark each one

12:21 - Peggy George
we would love to hear some stories!!!

12:31 - Peggy George
the examples help so much!!!

12:33 - Nai Wang
Technology allows for multimodality learning. Presenting the same information in different ways that fit their best learning modes. They aren’ just limited to just one choice but can choose from a buffet of modes to learn.

12:35 - Jan Wells (@janwells)
Good Morning to all

12:38 - Peggy George
Welcome Jan! So great to see you!

13:03 - Peggy George
excellent description Nai! Why don't you take the mic? We'd love to hear you!

13:09 - Kim T AZ

14:18 - Toni Olivieri-Barton @toniobarton

14:36 - @plnaugle (Paula)
Oh i love crepes, Toni.

14:43 - Peggy George
blended learning is an awesome way to use Genius Hour :-)

No problem Toni. You are back in the lineup to take the mic.

16:35 - Toni Plourde

16:35 - Toni Olivieri-Barton @toniobarton
I love turnitin. Thanks for mentioning it.

16:48 - @mrsmorgansclass - Louise
My own kids use turnitin at their school.

16:53 - Peggy George
if you share links on the mic please add them to the chat too and I'll add them to the Livebinder :-)

17:03 - stidmama
I guess I am dipping my toes in by using NewsELA because I have my students read articles and respond by highlighting and making comments; then I respond to their ideas first online and then in class discussions.

17:19 - aunttammie
turnitin has so much more than just plagiarism checks!

17:24 - Toni Olivieri-Barton @toniobarton
@Patti, so sad! But if you get them excited about the work, they may do it afterward at home.

17:30 - Peggy George
that's a fantastic tip @Patti!

17:37 - @bcdtech Maureen
I set up newsela accounts for grades 4-6.. don't think the teachers have used them yet.

18:03 - @plnaugle (Paula)
We are using newsela too.

18:04 - Peggy George
we included some great screencasting resources in the Livebinder too! Shamblesguru has some awesome resources on his site

18:15 - Peggy George (Shamblesguru: Screencasting Resources)

18:17 - Doug Henry
I expect that using more mobile tools will make doing work out of the classroom more fun

18:31 - Peggy George
that's so interesting about their attention on video :-)

18:35 - @mrsmorgansclass - Louise
One of my goals is to learn screencasting on ipad

18:41 - @bcdtech Maureen
I have a whole list of screenr videos that I have made to give directions for different things.

18:56 - @plnaugle (Paula)
Toni push the Talk button.

19:06 - Toni Olivieri-Barton @toniobarton

21:21 - Nai Wang
I love how global education is becoming!

21:23 - Peggy George
thanks Shambles!

21:46 - @plnaugle (Paula)
Don't forgot to use #comments4kids on Twitter if your students are blogging. It will generate lots of comments from around the globe.

21:52 - Peggy George
that is so true! kids don't know which questions to ask and the videos really help them to prepare for PBL

21:56 - Toni Olivieri-Barton @toniobarton
Donna is amazing with Blended Global Connections!

22:04 - Peggy George
hooray!! Doug is taking the mic!

@Shannon Let's ask someone to explain on the mic. We have some great definitions and examples in the Livebinder too

24:56 - Peggy George
what a great story Tammy!

25:12 - Patti R
"Blended learning is more than electronic textbooks and productivity tools. It means inventing or adopting new learning environments that work better for students and teachers."

25:24 - Toni Plourde
wonderful blended learning model,Tammy

thanks Patti!

25:30 - Doug Henry

27:37 - Tammy Moore
I love Moodle and Collaborate for the online side :)

27:44 - @teachteKBeck (Kristen)
Here is a great ted talk from a 13 year old who has hacked his schooling. It truly applies to all we are talking about!

27:56 - @plnaugle (Paula)
Thanks, Jan. So glad you are here. :)

27:58 - Peggy George (Read how other teachers are using blended learning to transform their classroom on the Blend My Learning blog.)

28:09 - Peggy George
Thanks Kristen!!! So glad you're here!

28:23 - Peggy George
keep sharing your links here and I'll add them to the Livebinder

28:25 - Stella Maris Berdaxagar
A vertical social network, third party site connection, an ICT integrated plan of studies with adapted rubrics and tutorials for personalized learning.

28:44 - Peggy George
that is so reassuring to know you don't need a lot of technology to do blended learning

28:53 - @teachteKBeck (Kristen)
Finally Here!! I have been having to watch the taped recordings lately because of my son's sports schedule!

29:01 - @bcdtech Maureen
@ Stella DO you want to go on mic and talk about assessment with blended learning?

29:04 - Peggy George
nice definition Stella! thanks!

29:10 - Patti R
"student control over time, place, path, and place"

29:10 - Peggy George
yes Stella! Take the mic :-)

29:21 - Patti R
sorry i meant "pace"

29:31 - Peggy George
love those infographics! really helps to visualize a concept!

29:51 - Peggy George
you are all doing such an awesome job sharing on the mic!!!!

30:00 - @plnaugle (Paula)
Hi Debra, so glad you have joined us.

30:08 - Peggy George
Welcome Deborah! Long time no see :-) So glad you're here!

30:09 - rtxenja 1
We make livescribe pencasts of lectures which are then posted to Edmodo. Students get to create mini video tutorials which we also share online. -- Only need a few items if posting outside.

30:26 - @bcdtech Maureen
Missing working with you Toni- so great to hear what you are doing in your school

30:29 - Toni Plourde
Can we get a template of Paula's google doc she uses at the beginning of each year to determine what tech is available to students?

30:32 - @mrsmorgansclass - Louise
Exactly - used for creation!

30:41 - Peggy George
such a great point! ipads are not just for consuming but creating/producing! Thanks Toni!

30:49 - @teachteKBeck (Kristen)
I love my livescribe pen!!

31:03 - Peggy George
go ahead Jan :-)

31:05 - rtxenja 1
same reason I do -- traditional learning is beyond boring

31:19 - Toni Plourde
There are so many resources online that engage the students

31:20 - Peggy George
I agree @rtxenja!

31:30 - rtxenja 1

31:32 - Peggy George
the choices are essential for engagement!

31:37 - Peggy George
thanks Jan!

31:49 - Tammy Moore
Students that are quiet by nature feel they ca [articipate easier in the online side vs the live class

31:50 - Nai Wang
They are use to looking stuff up on their own now. Google it! Need to know how to beat a level, google it! Need to fix a car? Google it

31:57 - @bcdtech Maureen
Because our world is not a typical classroom- but is blended... more realisitic

32:05 - Peggy George
don't you love how Google has become a verb?! :-)

32:05 - Lorie Moffat
Please remember to lower your had after speaking.

32:15 - @mrsmorgansclass - Louise

32:28 - Peggy George
I'm exactly the same way! I want to know now :-)

32:42 - Peggy George
Welcome Karen! So great that you could join us!

32:43 - Stella Maris Berdaxagar
Because the digital shift is in their environment since they were born. They are web 3.0 wired and blended learning makes them feel involved, creative and autonomous though scaffolded.

32:46 - LucianeCurator @web20education
In case you are ipad addicted like me, you will will like my startup mLearning portofolio with more than 200 edapps :)

32:55 - Nai Wang
Brains are sponges. Never wait to get info to feed the need to know.

33:09 - Peggy George
hahaha!!!! keep raising your hands and feel free to share anything--even if it answers one of the earlier questions :-)

33:20 - Peggy George
thanks Luciane!

33:33 - @plnaugle (Paula)
Link to my survey -Student/Parent/Community Technology Survey

33:49 - Peggy George
so many great links being shared! thanks!

33:52 - Toni Plourde
Thanks Paula

34:04 - Doug Henry
Seems we need to make both the classroom part and the online part more student-directed to raise level of engagement

34:27 - Peggy George
love that point @Doug!! both need to be more student-directed!!!

34:27 - Toni Olivieri-Barton @toniobarton
Thanks for all the great links. I am getting distracted by them.

34:36 - Karen @klirenman 1
Thanks Peggy. Just listening for a bit. Took a while for me to get in.

34:40 - LucianeCurator @web20education
We thank you Peggy because you manage #liveclass20 :)

34:51 - Jan Wells (@janwells)
I agree

34:53 - @bcdtech Maureen
@Toni- Peggy will put them all in the livebinder for later

34:54 - Peggy George
great point Shannon!

35:16 - Toni Olivieri-Barton @toniobarton
@Maureen - OK. HI Karen!

35:37 - Peggy George
do you think when teachers give up more control to students that they won't learn what is required/expected by the standards?

35:38 - @mrsmorgansclass - Louise
My kids were planning who was "it" at recess on their kidblog comments! LOL!

35:46 - Peggy George
hahaha Louise!

35:49 - Karen @klirenman 1
Hi Toni! :-)

36:13 - @mrsmorgansclass - Louise
HI Karen!

36:13 - Peggy George
If you missed it here is today's Livebinder:

36:25 - Peggy George
that is a great question!

36:27 - Nai Wang I use this funny example of kids googling.

36:32 - @bcdtech Maureen
@Peggy- I often question "student directed" as I wonder if the assessment piece is in place

36:38 - Karen @klirenman 1
Hi Louise, and friends. Louise I'm dying to talk to you about your infusion of iPads.

36:50 - Donna Romá
Hi Karen:)

36:54 - Peggy George
I know a lot of teachers have that concern @Maureen

37:06 - @plnaugle (Paula)
Hi Karen. Nice to see you here. :)

37:13 - Karen @klirenman 1
Donna! Hi :-)

37:15 - Peggy George
Karen please take the mic :-) you have so much to share!

37:19 - @teachteKBeck (Kristen) #2
Back on using my tablet! :-)

37:44 - rtxenja 1
Are you kidding -- that is the epitome of my students. "Think" - not happening - we are trying all types of different things - have not found what works yet

37:50 - Karen @klirenman 1
Hi Paula! So many friends in this room.

38:13 - Peggy George
there definitely isn't one right way!!!

38:30 - Deborah Boatwright
I am dealing with students not reading and/or following directions. You have to offer choice and you must sit back and wait them out..

38:30 - @mrsmorgansclass - Louise
create digital portfolios on their blogs!

38:33 - Karen @klirenman 1
Peggy, I am trying to listen for a bit to see where this is/has been going.

38:43 - Jan Wells (@janwells)
Great, thanks

38:44 - Toni Plourde
I couldn't agree more,Toni OBarton

38:59 - Deborah Boatwright
I would love a great definition of blended learning.

39:00 - Peggy George
that is such a great point Toni! we shouldn't assume the students know how to do it!

39:01 - Shannon McKenna
I use digital portfolios to assess what they are learning

39:18 - Peggy George
there are some great definitions for blended learning in the Livebinder :-)

39:19 - Toni Plourde
The students need support in using technology in my highschool.

39:27 - Peggy George
videos and blog posts :-)

39:49 - Deborah Boatwright
You would be amazed at how much they do not know when it comes to using technology as a tool for learning.

39:52 - Shannon McKenna
what blogs do you recommend

40:08 - Shannon McKenna
Absolutely, Deborah!!!

40:12 - Peggy George
if anyone else wants to speak please raise your hand and Paula will call on you :-) we want to hear from all of you!

40:17 - Doug Henry
Peer-teaching should be a part of blended learning, too...

40:32 - Shannon McKenna
Good point, Doug

40:32 - Toni Plourde
Love the idea of peer teaching

40:35 - Deborah Boatwright
10 marks?

40:37 - @mrsmorgansclass - Louise
Using is because of YOU, Paula!

40:48 - Peggy George
love that point Doug!! peer teaching is a wonderful idea!

40:50 - dotty #3
Love tenmarks

40:53 - rtxenja 1
agree Deborah -- I am surprised every time I have to show / explain basic key combinations or how to manipulate a web page

40:55 - Stella Maris Berdaxagar
Blended learning is that one which tries to connect to ubiquitous learning through transmedia and extends classroom outside its walls.

41:09 - @mrsmorgansclass - Louise
Ten marks

41:17 - @bcdtech Maureen
I have set it up for teachers... but I don't think they are using it yet. I set up sum dog, manga high, ten marks and front row. Front Row is pretty cool too.

41:19 - Deborah Boatwright

reuse!!!!! :-) love it!!!

42:51 - @bcdtech Maureen
Clear expectations for students and a clear outcome that you want to see- a rubric or a portfolio or some reflection space, etc

42:58 - @mrsmorgansclass - Louise

43:09 - Deborah Boatwright
This is my first year back in the classroom after 10 years. I have been shocked.

43:10 - Toni Plourde
@ToniOBarton We tried that with our autistic students !

43:27 - Peggy George
so many teachers who are flipping their classrooms are reusing tutorial videos year after year. only first year is challenging :-)

43:29 - Jan Wells (@janwells)
I haven't heard of Front Row

43:31 - @bcdtech Maureen
@ Deborah- why shocked?

43:33 - Susie @shighley
Or like last week when Todd told us he burned DVD's of his lessons for kids without net access at home and used them the next year

43:34 - Shannon McKenna
I set up modules and put in links, quizzes, worksheets.

43:38 - Shannon McKenna
and videos

43:54 - Deborah Boatwright
Great point I just made a huge mistake building all my classes in a school Google Apps acct.

43:59 - stidmama
getting double audio?

44:02 - Peggy George
shared materials is a great tip!

44:20 - Peggy George
anyone else have some tips to share? raise your hand :-)

44:23 - Nai Wang
Google gives you 15 GB!

44:28 - Deborah Boatwright
@bcdteach shocked at the basic laziness and quality of work.

44:28 - @bcdtech Maureen

44:37 - Stella Maris Berdaxagar
ICT integrated lesson plans considering prior knowledge, styles of learning , multiple intelligence and P2P collaboration.

44:41 - Toni Olivieri-Barton @toniobarton
@ToniPlourde, I am trying to connect students on Austism Day, would you be interested?

44:44 - Toni Olivieri-Barton @toniobarton
Or anyone else?

44:47 - @plnaugle (Paula)
@Nai Wang I love using Google Drive for all of my work.

44:47 - Peggy George
@Nai please take the mic! you have so much to share :-)

44:53 - Toni Olivieri-Barton @toniobarton

44:59 - Jan Wells (@janwells)
Thank you, bcdtech

45:17 - Toni Plourde
@toniobarton I'll find out with our teachers

45:18 - Nai Wang
@peggy. I'm learning more from listening. I speak enough at conferences about technology!

45:19 - Deborah Boatwright
shocked at the demands put on a teacher to write and product all the materials.

45:27 - Toni Olivieri-Barton @toniobarton
Anyone who wants to connect students with Autisum on Autism Day, save this link:

45:33 - @teachteKBeck (Kristen) #2
For older students, Schoology is a great LMS (learning management system) to use. My middle schoolers did not like edmodo. The platform does not matter, it is what you are used to or are comfortable using.

45:33 - Peggy George
excellent advice Louise!

45:51 - Nai Wang
@peggy anyway I'm not a teacher. LOL

45:54 - Lorie Moffat
Click the Talk buttin, Tammy.

46:06 - Peggy George
yeah! great Tammy!

46:09 - Peggy George
hearing you great

46:09 - @plnaugle (Paula)
Yes we can.

46:47 - Toni Olivieri-Barton @toniobarton
Drinking Hot Tea from my Valentine - he found my favorite Chinese tea called PU-ERH with chocolate in it. :)

46:59 - Nai Wang
A future question is for another session later is. If you had a wish list of online tools, what would it be? BEHAG

47:00 - Shannon McKenna

47:00 - @bcdtech Maureen
@Tammy My son is in Girdwood, AK

47:10 - Toni Olivieri-Barton @toniobarton
@Tammy, what grade level do you teach?

47:34 - Toni Olivieri-Barton @toniobarton
Flexibility is HUGE!! Always have a back-up lesson. Ha ha ha.

47:55 - Doug Henry
Perhaps hold teachers meetings online to help teachers get used to online skills

47:56 - Peggy George
our special guest next week is going to be sharing about PD for tech integration Felix Jacomino. He's awesome!

48:11 - Toni Olivieri-Barton @toniobarton
@Doug, great suggestion.

48:15 - Peggy George
no way you can learn every tool!

48:17 - Karen @klirenman 1
As teaching our students learning isn't about us at all, and all about them. Often teachers get stuck in what works best for them, vs what is best for their students.

48:17 - Tammy
I provide PD - teach adults :)

48:20 - Shannon McKenna
My admin is always changing the learning management system - very frustrating

48:40 - Toni Olivieri-Barton @toniobarton
@Tammy - I teach a lot of PD also. I love it. Thanks for sharing!

48:41 - Toni Plourde
wonderful idea Paula

48:44 - Peggy George
let us hear from you on the mic!!! raise your hand!

48:53 - Tammy Moore
@Shannon - set up your own LMS :)

49:00 - Shannon McKenna

49:10 - Tammy Moore
THen it won't matter what the school does :)

49:14 - Susie @shighley
This is a harder question!

49:19 - Tammy Moore
Moodle hosts are out there

49:21 - Peggy George
Anyone use this? (30 Hands Cloud: a platform for online and blended learning that merges personalized, structured content with social media and student publishing for better, student-centric learning. Free for teachers.)

49:22 - Tammy Moore
Many are free

49:32 - @plnaugle (Paula)
@Susie, why is that?

49:36 - Peggy George (The Basics of Blended Learning YouTube video)

49:46 - Toni Olivieri-Barton @toniobarton
@Paula - Great Questions!

49:51 - Stella Maris Berdaxagar
They mark progress and the possibility of adjusting praxis to students' performance and needs.

49:55 - Peggy George
assessment doesn't mean standardized testing :-)

50:02 - Nai Wang
formative assessments!

50:07 - @plnaugle (Paula)
@Susie, please raise your hand to share your thoughts as to why this question is harder.

50:16 - Toni Olivieri-Barton @toniobarton
I just did PD in another district that is Backwards by Design all the way. They used the word Outcomes more than anything. We are an IB/PYP school so our planners are also backwards by design.

50:18 - Karen @klirenman 1
Formative assessment is on going.

50:22 - Doug Henry
Since it's easy to look up answers online, I think online assessments should be more 'authentic' - project-based and hand-on assignments

50:26 - Peggy George
formative assessments are so important for giving and receiving feedback :-)

50:42 - Deborah Boatwright
I agree but this is part of the huge job of a teacher outside of teaching time.

50:48 - Peggy George (Six Types of Blended Learning (great infographic in this post))

51:07 - Nai Wang
That's my specialization. Formative assessments with artificial intelligence

51:24 - @bcdtech Maureen
@Peggy I met the guys who do the 30 hands thing at TIE in Holyoke. THe platform is getting better and I love the app 30 hands

51:25 - Peggy George
you can use something like TodaysMeet for on the spot assessment to hear from every student in the class

51:33 - Eileen 1
I like to use Socrative as a formative and a summative with my 3rd graders

51:35 - Doug Henry
@Nai - maybe someday AI will make online learning more personalized!

51:38 - Peggy George
thanks Maureen! it looked really good

51:41 - Deborah Boatwright
I have class meetings and ask what did you learn today?

51:45 - Peggy George
Hooray Karen!!! Thank you!

52:00 - Peggy George
that's a great strategy too Deborah :-)

52:01 - Shannon McKenna
I love that idea

52:27 - Patti R
I like the private commenting in kidblog

52:27 - Peggy George
the public/private point is very important!

52:29 - Deborah Boatwright
Then I know who to use for different skills as peer tutors.

52:35 - Nai Wang
@doug, it actually does! student learning beahvior can be measured and predicted just like amazon or netflix predicitng shopping behavior

52:36 - Toni Olivieri-Barton @toniobarton
Thanks Karen!

52:37 - Jan Wells (@janwells)
That was great

52:37 - @mrsmorgansclass - Louise
LOL. Karen!

52:47 - Peggy George
hooray Susie :-)

53:01 - Deborah Boatwright
I agree

53:08 - Doug Henry
@Nai - great point - thanks!

53:13 - Deborah Boatwright
I also use reflections

53:30 - Deborah Boatwright
The folks outside need to take up a class and teach inside.

53:33 - Eileen 1
Our administration is all about data - so online assessments can provide this.

53:34 - Peggy George
grades just don't tell you what you need to know

53:41 - @bcdtech Maureen
I like formative assessment, it's the only kind that is worthwhile for the student. The piece that I often don't see is that the data gathered from formative assessment is used to inform instruction

53:47 - Deborah Boatwright
I am concerned about the standards base.. for technology.

53:56 - Patti R
I wish i could get my teachers to do more performance based assessment like student created videos; they feel they have to do everything as they always did and the performance activity is in addition to, not replacing.

53:58 - Peggy George
hooray for Indiana :-) thinking teachers :-)

54:00 - @shamblesguru [thailand Macbook]
Blended Report System maybe :-)

54:04 - Nai Wang
I measure based on "feelings" I feel you knwo this or I feel you need to spend more time working on that. fuzzy logic works well in getting people to learn.

54:24 - Doug Henry
For my online learning classes, I'm moving toward a "mastery-learning" approach for assessments - letting students take them over until they get it right...

54:26 - S. Smith
Front Row Teacher referral needed to unlock domains! Send your name my way. ;-)

54:27 - Peggy George
I love this question!

54:29 - rtxenja 1
that is so true -- parents are having a difficult time where we are trying to grade based on mastery but have to use a traditional grading system

54:30 - Karen @klirenman 1
I have no marks and I report no letter grades.

54:42 - Peggy George
how do you manage all of those personalized learning experiences?

54:44 - Karen @klirenman 1
We are looking at going no marks/letter grades k-7

54:55 - Peggy George
how exciting Karen!!!

55:02 - Toni Olivieri-Barton @toniobarton
That is awesome Karen

55:21 - @plnaugle (Paula)
LOL gotta you, Patti. :)

55:23 - Peggy George
:-) raise your hands! we really want to hear from you!

55:38 - Doug Henry
Small groups seem a useful strategy

55:40 - Peggy George
just a few minutes left :-( this has been fabulous!!!

55:51 - Karen @klirenman 1
But we are in The Canada. Things are different here.

56:09 - @bcdtech Maureen
I just made up a checklist for our teachers to add the evidence they need for their teacher evaluations- there are student goals, professional goals and 33 sections of "evidence" needed to show that you are meeting all the standards. So- it is not just student assessment---

56:15 - Susie @shighley
Everybody has been so good about sharing, and even just handling taking the mic. I've been to lots of these where people didn't get it to work so smoothly.

56:25 - @teachteKBeck (Kristen) #2
I formatively asses my students at the beginning of each period. They do one or two word problems for homework and as they discuss and revise when the get to class, I walk around and take note of the students who did not do the work or students who have misconceptions. That way I know which students I need to have a brief chat with during the period. They also have time in their groups to learn from each other.

56:37 - Peggy George
thanks again Shannon!!

56:48 - Susie @shighley
The first online class i ever took, I was so impressed that the instructor commented on every post I made.

56:52 - Peggy George
don't we all wish we had a perfect world??? :-)

57:04 - @bcdtech Maureen
Active, engaged... fun

57:11 - Nai Wang
We would have something like the matrix. plug and and know kung fu

57:12 - Peggy George
click on talk

57:16 - Patti R
much more student choice in learning

57:17 - Doug Henry
It's an evolving concept - moving learning out of the classroom into the 'real' world

57:23 - Peggy George
there you are!

57:23 - Tammy Moore
Love the Matrix idea :)

57:25 - Susie @shighley
Students figuring out that they can learn 24/7, and enjoying it

57:26 - @plnaugle (Paula)

57:40 - stidmama
Yes, learning to ENJOY learning...

57:46 - Peggy George
isn't it fun to think about our perfect world :-)

57:54 - Peggy George
learning never stops!

58:19 - Peggy George
everything is so integrated :-)

58:22 - Karen @klirenman 1
In a perfect world my students will have all the tools they need to learn what they want to learn. We teach each other, work together when we want to, and on our own when we want to too. There is support for kids who need the "extra" .

58:23 - Shannon McKenna
Taking pride in learning

58:26 - Patti R
and make it fun with a game based environment!

58:29 - Peggy George
thank you so much @rtxenja!

58:32 - Stella Maris Berdaxagar
Students' involvement in planning, carrying out, sharing and evaluating the process.

58:48 - Tammy Moore
Ms. Frizzle style learning -

58:53 - Tammy Moore
Perfect world

59:01 - Stella Maris Berdaxagar
Thank you!

59:04 - rtxenja 1
true Stella - they are wanting to share

59:05 - Patti R
@Paula You have been an amazing facilitator!

59:17 - Nai Wang

Thanks Paula, great job!!

59:31 - S. Smith
Amazing information! Thank you!

59:33 - Doug Henry
Great session! The prepared questions were a great approach...

59:34 - @bcdtech Maureen
I think we should add this type of meeting to a regular schedule- once a month!

59:34 - Toni Plourde
Thank you, Paula, Peggy and all in Classroom 2.0 live

59:35 - @plnaugle (Paula)
Thanks Jan.

59:46 - Susie @shighley
