30:52 - Diane Norris
With AH offers, try to line up funding prior to project going live. That way you can try to fund before AH offer disappears. They go very quickly

31:01 - Joan Howze
Thank you!

31:12 - Laura Candler
Jenn, you should email the folks at DonorsChoose. I'm sure they can help answer your questions.

31:15 - Sofia Segurola 1
will they fund for apps for ipads?

31:19 - Julie Truesdell 1
I had a $102 ($171 with DC fees) project funded in 2 weeks!

31:35 - Jenn McMaster
I do that and no response back

31:44 - Jenn McMaster

32:16 - Heather Soucy 1
Jenn, they will email you for a replacement order.

32:29 - Regina Anderson Giles
If I get an AH offer, I will fund myself. I lost the first AH match in 1/2 day....at that time, I didn't know you were encouraged to donate. I thought about doing it, and when I made up my mind, the match was gone. Now I don't wait!

32:33 - JenJones

33:16 - Diane Norris
Amazing that DC friends seem to come along and help projects, share kind words, etc. on days that are difficult and remind me why I teach and that I am not alone in my desire to provide great opportunities for my students

33:19 - Patrick Asdell

33:33 - Francie Kugelman #2
Great idea about funding your own Almost HOme project. If you use INSPIRE, you would only have to spend $50 of your own money. Nothing sadder than losing the Almost Home match.

39:41 - Julie Truesdell 1
Francie, I love that!

39:42 - Jacquie
What happens if you aren't fully funded in four months? Do you loose funding?

39:43 - Amy Coffey
When is the best time of year to post a literacy project?

39:48 - mJ
I try to keep my giving page to 20

39:59 - Peggy George
great questions! thanks!!

40:07 - Cassandra McDowell 1
My giving page stays around 15-20 projects

40:15 - Cassandra McDowell 1
sometimes less

40:24 - Peggy George
really important! can't just "like" their page! have to donate at least a dollar to join the community!

40:33 - Karen
Amy, I would say before school start in August and again during Christmas time..seems to be lots of donors

40:52 - Francie Kugelman #2
The Caring Classrooms giving page is amazing because we guarantee your project will be fully funded. However, your project must only have $500 or less needed to be fully funded (not including corportate sponsorship), and at least 3 weeks left to fund.

41:02 - Amy Coffey
I will set mine up in the summer then. Thanks!

41:03 - Diane Norris
My page varies, depending on current level of support and special events going on at the time.

41:13 - @bcdtech Maureen
If you want funding for several subscription sites- like powtoon, brain pop and storybird- do you write 1 proposal or 3? Just wondering how to break things down.

41:21 - Francie Kugelman #2
One day we had 3 of our 10 Caring Classrooms featured on the DonorsChoose projects page!

41:21 - Joan Howze
Love, love, love Caring Classrooms!!! :-)

41:22 - Dee Richardson 1
If projects are not funded in four months, then the funds donated are returned to the donor. Sometimes the donor will send the teacher a gift card in the amount of their donation to use on another project.

41:25 - Ellen Zarchy
Francie can I ask you later about my problem

41:25 - Peggy George
I'm sure being a featured project is a huge help for getting funding support!

41:26 - Amy Coffey
Love Caring Classrooms!!!

41:33 - Karen
Caring Classroom ROCKS!! They have helped so many kiddos from around the U.S.

41:39 - Dawn Koziarz

41:57 - Peggy George
hahaha Laura!!!! :-)

42:08 - Jamie Rickman

42:13 - Francie Kugelman #2

42:36 - Valerie McElroy
Awesome! Thanks for helping my students and me.

43:09 - Diane Norris
How can we become more involved in Donors Choose as volunteers--other than running our giving pages?

43:34 - Cassandra McDowell 1
Good Question Diane! I have the same one

43:43 - Anne Hansen
Yeah! Funday Sunday

43:44 - Sofia Segurola 1
to get donors choose approval you need to join a community and donate?

43:49 - Meredith Weipert 1
What a brilliant idea!

43:54 - Jacquie
Where does the matched money come from when you type inspire

43:57 - Regina Anderson Giles
I would love to screen projects!

44:06 - Cassandra McDowell 1
Me too Regina!

44:07 - Francie Kugelman #2
There is going to be a special DonorsChoose funding opportunity beginning next week. If you have 3 different people donate $20 to your project, you will receive a DonorsChoose gift card! You will get even larger gift cards if you have at least 5 different donors. Read your emails to find out more. It is called Friends and Family

44:10 - Diane Norris
I would too, Regina

44:25 - @plnaugle (Paula)
Love being able to help so many other educators through Laura and Francie's Caring Communities. Giving just a dollar here and a dollar there. Fund-day Sunday is a great day of the week.

44:29 - Peggy George
thanks Francie! great to know!

44:34 - Cassandra McDowell 1
I've emailed them beforea bout that, but never received a response

44:35 - Sofia Segurola 1
you donate to your own project?

44:44 - Angie 1
Be sure to check out the code.org and Donors Choose partnership going on right now. I taught my students some basic computer coding and got a $1000 gift card from Donors Choose. Just got my 3 iPad minis two days ago!

44:51 - Francie Kugelman #2
When you donate a dollar each Sunday to a project on the Caring Classrooms giving page, we notice your name and try to add a member who helps often.

44:54 - Heather Soucy 1
I have been lining up support for the Friends and Family funding for next week.

44:57 - Anne Hansen
How Lond does it take for a submitted project to post to DC website.

45:03 - Peggy George
wow Angie!! that's fantastic!!!!

45:06 - Meredith Weipert 1
My students are all working towards the code.org program. I'm hoping we earn the $1000

45:06 - Crystal Carranco
what grade on the code.org

45:09 - Dee Richardson 1
Matching funds like Inspire for the first week come from the DC Board or a company wanting to support education

45:12 - Catherine Rockenstein 1
My student did the Code.org coding course.

45:17 - Cassandra McDowell 1
The code.org is to hard for my kids =(

45:19 - Joan Howze
The match money for INSPIRE comes from the Yellow Chair Foundation.

45:35 - Crystal Carranco
I'm trying the code but it's hard for 1st graders :(

45:37 - Diane Norris
I help teachers at my school and a few other schools with getting projects started, giving page, but would love to do more. I can't afford to donated to every project I would like to. I think volunteering would be great, since I do believe in Donors Choose and its importance.

45:40 - @plnaugle (Paula)
Excited to particiapte in DC Friends and Family project. Wish me luck!

45:44 - Adrienne Gillon
Loving the opportunity to get funded for SOMETHING...all of our students need this wonderful support....

45:44 - Francie Kugelman #2
Screeners are quick! We try to have your project posted within 3-5 days of your submitting it.

45:45 - Samantha Bradshaw
I have had 2 projects funded through Caring Classrooms! One as a regular selection and one during the "Share the Love" event!

45:54 - Diane Norris
Who is Yellow Chair Foundation?

45:57 - Sofia Segurola 1
We still ned to pay 98 right if the project gets funded?

46:00 - Francie Kugelman #2
Samantha - congratulations!

46:07 - Regina Anderson Giles
That's why I didn't do the coding. I got the email and was going to start after Christmas, but another teacher told me how hard it was for her 4th graders....I doubt my firsties would be able to do it.

46:17 - Francie Kugelman #2
You will see Yellow Chair because they provide the funding for the INSPIRE match.

46:18 - Samantha Bradshaw
Thank you, Francie! :)

46:28 - Catherine Rockenstein 1
I hav students in 1st -5th grades using Code.org. If you have 15 kids finish the course, you get $750 for DC. Add another $250 if 7 or more are girls.

I don't know how I missed the MakerBot vendor when I submitted my project for 3D printer. It hasn't been approved yet. Francie, do you know if I can have the vendor switched from Amazon to Makerbot?

46:58 - Angie 1
I did code.org with my 5th graders. If you want to do under 4th grade I recommend maybe doing it as a study buddy project with older students.

47:04 - Meredith Weipert 1
My 4th graders are doing code.org and are having a blast. My own daughter's teacher is doing it too and she's able to do it successfully. She's 10

47:13 - Diane Norris
I've seen Yellow Chair from "inspire" code, just wondered who they actually were.

47:48 - Francie Kugelman #2

That's awesome Dee, because my kiddos love it!

48:00 - @plnaugle (Paula)
Using my three Chromebooks I received thanks to DC for an after-school Computer Science Club for my 4th graders. We used many of the resources on code.org.

Do the items become the property of the teacher or the school district in which he or she teaches? The school receives the property if you retire, but you can take the resources with you if you change to another public school.

I don't know how I missed the MakerBot vendor when I submitted my project for 3D printer. It hasn't been approved yet. Francie, do you know if I can have the vendor switched from Amazon to Makerbot? You would have to end your project, but MakerBot has too many projects already, so you could just keep the project posted for four months. Maybe you will get lucky.

I've had trouble with Amazon filling orders as well. Either sending the wrong items or not filling the whole order. It took months to get things corrected, but it did happen.

If a teacher leaves a school: Any materials that have been delivered to the school by default should remain at that school if a teacher leaves. However, the teacher is welcome to take the materials with him/her to a new school if both of these criteria are met: The teacher will continue to teach in a public school and in a position that meets our eligibility criteria. The principal gives consent for the teacher to take funded materials to use in his/her new classroom.
