00:29 - Peggy George
Patti did you know you can import all of your Delicious bookmarks into Diigo with just a click? I always add my links to Diigo but they post on Delicious too.

00:39 - Peggy George
Hi DonnaR! Welcome!

00:41 - Patti Ruffing
yes Peggy, I am just too lazy

01:00 - Peggy George
@Stella I love Pearltrees too! Shelly Terrell got me hooked on that!

01:04 - Kim T. AZ
Does open mic mean we can sing our favorite Wayne Newton song? :D

01:14 - Kg
Wondering how folks like the changes in Diigo.

01:18 - Melissa Getz 1
I've given up with Deliciious- all of the changing of ownership lost me. I still prefer it to Diigo, though.

01:20 - Peggy George
of course Kim :-) if it's on topic :-)

01:26 - Susie @shighley
THere are changes in diigo?

01:50 - Kim T. AZ
ohhh, just opened up Pearltrees. Hope someone will talk about it....

01:52 - Peggy George
I love the Diigo changes myself but I pay for the service. I love that it can search any word in any link I save.

02:14 - Peggy George
I hope you'll all consider volunteering to take the mic to share :-)

02:20 - Kg
@Peggy: Yes, I do, too...I host alot of groups, and this helps.

02:21 - Peggy George

06:11 - Dejan Kreculj 1

06:16 - Melissa Getz 1
When planning lessons for biotech I looked through the industry standards and used curricuum from the DNA learning center or BABEC- biotech was not mainstream when I was teaching it.

06:17 - Peggy George
Thanks a lot Tammie!!!!

06:19 - Tiziana Angiolini
Youtube+ zaption ; ted ed and for english I use TIMEFOR KIDS, save up my materials on line ; I bookmark the materials ( I use pocket or also pearltrees) then I used pictures on line for brainstorming topics....

06:31 - Peggy George

06:49 - Peggy George

06:53 - Peggy George

06:58 - @viralber
hi all!

07:01 - Peggy George
sure Doug

07:08 - Peggy George
that's ok

07:21 - Kim T. AZ
Doug - how user friendly is this tool?

07:38 - @plnaugle(Paula)
Is it free?

07:53 - Peggy George
what a great way to share your lessons with students!

08:13 - Peggy George
is Coursesites a learning management system?

08:14 - aunttammie
Does the school have to be signed up with Blackboard?

08:17 - Kim T. AZ
Compared to Google classrooms?

08:17 - Patti Ruffing
do they have to log in, or could we go to Doug's site and see his lessons?

08:33 - Sofia Segurola
Google Classroom for me

08:38 - Melissa Getz 1
Do you prefer this over Moodle or a Moodle like LMS?

08:45 - Peggy George
great question Patti!

08:52 - Melissa Getz 1
Not all of us can access Google Classroom :-(

09:14 - Kim T. AZ
Sofia - are you liking Google Classroom?

09:20 - Sofia Segurola

09:27 - Patti Ruffing
Doug's site looks very well organized

09:28 - aunttammie
My school is looking for something to keep all stuff, attendance stuff, grades, classroom sites, etc. Any ideas?

09:47 - Sofia Segurola
Doug also have a website?

09:48 - Peggy George
this looks really interesting!

09:50 - Alan Gman
I wouldn't be sharing live student name screens online

09:54 - Melissa Getz 1
From what I understand, Google Classroom Rocks!

09:55 - Patti Ruffing
@aunttammie, we have attendance, grades, etc in PowerSchool, but it is a subscription

09:58 - Kim T. AZ
It has a nice, clean layout

10:20 - Patti Ruffing
I am using Google Classroom for the first time this year and I am finding it to be awesome

10:22 - Melissa Getz 1
I have a strong dislike for PowerSchool and PowerTeacher. Personal bias.

10:29 - Peggy George
thanks for sharing that Doug!

10:29 - aunttammie
Yes, they know they will have to pay. Do you like PowerSchool?

10:55 - Patti Ruffing
Tammie, i havent used any other SIS but some others in our district are awful compared to PowerSchool

11:39 - Kim T. AZ
Thanks for sharing Doug...looks like a valuable resource

11:56 - Peggy George
we need to keep moving along or we won't get everyone in who wants to share :-)

12:02 - Patti Ruffing
thanks, Doug, looks like a good substitute for GClassroom

12:19 - Nina Peery 1
I use Emdodo, but love the way he could preview their PPTs to grade. Cannot do that in Edmodo.

12:20 - Peggy George
let's try to limit sharing and Q/A to a a couple of minutes

12:24 - Alan Gman
The recommendation re: sharing of student names was not so much specifically directed at Doug, but general sharing guidance.

12:34 - Sofia Segurola
I use Hapara WOW with Google Classroom

12:37 - Susie @shighley

12:45 - Peggy George
click on talk Susie

12:57 - @plnaugle(Paula)

12:59 - Peggy George

13:02 - Doug Henry in San Leandro CA
Hear OK

13:03 - Patti Ruffing
Hapara looks good but is not free so that's why we don't have it

13:03 - Kg
@Sofia: Does Hapara charge?

13:23 - Melissa Getz 1
Aside- does FERPA apply to private schools, or just public ones?

13:35 - Chris GR
Today's meet worked very well when a group of teachers were required to meet but coaching duties only left Sunday morning available. The principal could even see our discussion later.

13:46 - Kim T. AZ
Edweb is has such great webinars and resources

14:06 - Sofia Segurola
my district is running a pilot I think it is not free

14:15 - Patti Ruffing
i don't know enough about voxer, i have just used it to talk to one person at a time

14:16 - Peggy George
I added the last slide back in since we're talking about lessons :-)

14:36 - Susie @shighley
It depends upon whom I'm sharing it with

14:54 - Nina Peery 1
Symbaloo is my go-to. Don't think I could teach without it!

14:57 - Doug Henry in San Leandro CA
Diigo -> Evernote - just learning Pinterest

15:01 - Sofia Segurola
I screen shot almost everything

15:05 - Melissa Getz 1
I like Diigo when sharing with a specific person- very easy to do and can keep private

15:09 - Chris GR
I love Livebinder.

15:13 - Kg
@Patti: I just started to look at it, and saw the pricing structure...wondered if there were freemium alternatives.

15:20 - Sofia Segurola

15:22 - Tiziana Angiolini

15:37 - Susie @shighley
What changes are people talking about to diigo? I haven

15:43 - Kg
@Chris: Good point about TodaysMEet.

15:44 - Susie @shighley
noticed anything different

15:56 - @plnaugle(Paula)
I have only used the free side of Diigo and find it very useful.

16:29 - @plnaugle(Paula)
I do love the group sharing feature.

16:33 - Susie @shighley
I share things on diigo to a school librarians group, to middle and elementary teachers in my distirct, middle school teachers from all over...

16:39 - Kg
Yes, Groups with DiigoEDU is a great feature.

16:51 - Kim T. AZ
Groups is how I get stuff out to teachers and admin

16:53 - Susie @shighley
I search my diigo bookmarks all the tiem

17:04 - aunttammie
You can add Diigo extention to Chrome, too

17:06 - Peggy George
you can do tons with the free Diigo!!

17:39 - Peggy George
I pay because I really like being able to search on all words, tags, titles on my Diigo bookmarks

18:08 - Nina Peery 1
Some Dropbox but mainly Google Drive

18:10 - aunttammie
Google and Dropbox.

18:10 - Kim T. AZ
We are a Google District so this is the tool I utilize (through modeling and classes) with teachers and admin

18:14 - Melissa Getz 1
dropbox more than other places

18:15 - Kg
Google, Evernote, Dropbox, depending on the audinece and function.

18:25 - Peggy George
My absolute favorite is Evernote for storing and sharing files :-) But I also use Dropbox and definitely Google Docs

18:28 - Melissa Getz 1
sometimes Google Drive

18:34 - Susie @shighley
Peggy: So I can't search all of that on the free diigo now? I hadn't noticed a change.

18:35 - Sofia Segurola
Google and Dropbox and pay for Dropbox very reliable

18:38 - aunttammie
My problem is remembering what I put where!!

18:39 - Peggy George
no I'll give someone else a chance :-)

18:57 - Peggy George
click on talk again Patti

18:57 - Sofia Segurola
aunttammie that is exactly MY problem

18:57 - Gary CDN
We are a Microsoft district in Coquitlam so we use OneNote and the kids get 1TB storage

18:58 - Kim T. AZ
Aunttammie - so true! I need mental sticky notes!

19:08 - Peggy George

19:08 - @plnaugle(Paula)

19:19 - Lorie Moffat
yes, can hear

19:25 - Melissa Getz 1
@aunttammie- I forget where other people put stuff they are sharing with me :-)

19:28 - @plnaugle(Paula)

19:51 - Peggy George
no Patti-start over :-) hearing you great

20:08 - Gary CDN
Us Canadians don't prefer Google for safety. Microsoft store in Canada

20:14 - Peggy George
I had some favorite lesson plan links I wanted to share but we're on a new topic. I'll share them in the chat.

20:21 - Kg
From Classroom 20, I was encouraged to use Evernote. At that time, I had students create folders that they shared, and they used it for all kinds of classwork. This was in the days before Google became more prevalent. I used to always use Zoho because of the Notebook feature, that Google got rid of.

20:34 - @plnaugle(Paula)
I love that you can get extra storage from Dropbox in different ways. They offered more free storage last year for those who completed Hour of Code.

20:49 - Gary CDN
Interesting posting here

20:50 - Peggy George
I love the AZ Tech Integration Matrix that provides lesson plans for tech aligned with standards.

20:55 - Kg
@Paula: good point.

20:55 - Peggy George
thanks Patti!!!

21:03 - Peggy George
does anyone use HaikuDeck?

21:27 - Tammy Moore
Not hearing anyone

21:28 - Kg

21:34 - Kg
Loving Haiku Deck, Peggy

21:35 - Peggy George
don't be shy! take the mic or type it in the chat :-)

21:45 - aunttammie
Google SLides!!

21:46 - Gary CDN
We are now using SWAY!!!

21:48 - Stella Maris Berdaxagar
I am having sound issues but I want to share my collection with you :

21:50 - Peggy George
thanks @Kg Could you share about it on the mic?

21:50 - Sofia Segurola
I fel Dropbox is more private, I have come to the conclusion that my Google drive ( school) is School Public domain ama I wrong?

21:55 - Dejan Kreculj 1

21:57 - Peggy George
Gary take the mic!

21:58 - Gary CDN
Sway is from Microsoft Office

22:00 - Melissa Getz 1
Prezis make me motion sick. Just sayin'

22:11 - Peggy George
thank you so much Stella! I'll add that to the Livebinder

22:12 - Gary CDN
No thanks family noise in background

22:12 - Chris GR
Me too on the motion sickness w/ Prezi

22:19 - Kg
@Melissa: ditto

22:20 - Tammy Moore
Adobe Captivate - Not free but you can build in more interactivity and if you use an LMS you can have it send scores to a gradebook. :0)

22:26 - aunttammie
OH, new one! NEver heard of Sway

22:28 - Nina Peery 1
My co-worker and I present from Symbaloo often.

22:35 - Gary CDN
SWay looks great and easy

22:39 - Peggy George
I love how you can collaborate on creating Google Slides

22:44 - Sofia Segurola
I am old school PowerPoint but now for students is SLIDES

22:51 - Kg
@Peggy: Yes, yes with Slides

22:52 - Chris GR
I didn't realize Symbaloo was pres option

22:53 - Peggy George
share links in the chat for your tools so I can add them to the Livebinder

22:57 - Susie @shighley
I was at a presentation last week that actually made good use of prezi. There were 4-5 authors on a panel, and when a question referenced a particular author, they moved to their section effortlessly without making us dizzy!

22:58 - Kim T. AZ
Try to use Prezi for staff presentations to model something other than PPT

23:12 - Melissa Getz 1
It is usually other people's presentations where I almost just want to cry. I am so glad I don't have to grade Prezi presentations.

23:20 - Nina Peery 1
It doesn't have a presentation mode per se, but we present from it with the links we are talking about.

23:45 - @plnaugle(Paula)
Peggy is a Livebinder Guru for sure.

23:56 - Patti Ruffing
so many of these tools work so well together

23:57 - Kg
Great point, Peggy. Diigo used to have that function...does it still?

24:06 - Kim T. AZ
Being a student of "Dr. Peggy" I too have used LB as a presentation tool. Another way to model the use of something other than PPT

24:10 - @plnaugle(Paula)
I hadn't thought about using Livebinders as a presentation tool. Great idea.

24:14 - LucianeCurator 1
I made a swag

24:20 - Peggy George
hooray Alan!

24:24 - Gary CDN
My kids use SWAY but I love love love NEARPOD. Anyone out there try it too?

24:25 - Peggy George

24:25 - Patti Ruffing

24:25 - Kim T. AZ
Hi Alan

24:26 - Lorie Moffat

24:26 - @plnaugle(Paula)

24:27 - Gary CDN

24:49 - Kg
Some of the other curation tools like LessonPaths work the same curate and then can present from it.

25:04 - Peggy George
thanks for that tip Kg!

25:08 - LucianeCurator 1
Sway Presentation about my Erasmus Plus Curation Course

25:11 - LucianeCurator 1

25:11 - Kim T. AZ
Kg - interesting, will check into that

25:27 - Peggy George
thanks Alan!!!!

25:28 - Patti Ruffing
they are trying to keep up with google slides

25:33 - Melissa Getz 1
I'm old fashioned, I suppose, and rely on being able to record PPT or make my own slides using Camtasia. I have also mostly gotten over the repulsion of paying for things. SnagIt and Camtasia are now good options for quick video type presentations.

25:38 - Gary CDN
I like SWAY because all the kids are starting at the same point since it is new for everyone

25:42 - Sofia Segurola
i have 160 students ansd when they share with me OMG I get an email for each assign, and kiddo

25:56 - Kg
Yes, this link looks like what you get when you share a Haikudeck.

25:58 - Nina Peery 1
Symbaloo will give you a URL also for your entire webmix you can share with participants.

25:58 - Peggy George
this is also another great lesson planning resource that has lessons aligned with common core standards. ProCon

26:13 - Peggy George
Nina can you take the mic?

26:25 - Kg
Thanks, Alan.

26:27 - Melissa Getz 1
thank you, Alan!

26:31 - Gary CDN
Sofia, do you use aText

26:50 - Sofia Segurola
is atext an app?

27:05 - Kg
@Peggy: :TY...did not know this lesson source.

27:05 - Peggy George
I find so many great resources through my social media PLN! Love Twitter most but use all of them

27:14 - Peggy George
hooray Nina!!!

27:30 - Peggy George
all set now Nina

27:34 - Peggy George
hearing you great!

27:34 - Sofia Segurola
scared of social media..

27:46 - Gary CDN
Our Historian instructor uses twitter very effectively but posting challenging questions to the general population

27:59 - Kg
@Peggy: Yes. I am having my preservice teachers use What Conenctd Educators Do Differently (Whitaker, Zoul, Casas) to systematically grow their PLNs, heavy on Twitter.

28:14 - Sofia Segurola
all my students use these so they try to find me!

28:32 - Gary CDN
I am amazed by what teachers share on twitter

28:35 - LucianeCurator 1

28:44 - Peggy George
I love Tweetdeck for improving "productivity" A great timesaver with Twitter!

29:06 - Peggy George
Love that suggestion @Kg!!!

29:15 - Melissa Getz 1
I have to be careful b/c Tweetdeck can become addicting- so much to read all of the time!

29:18 - Chris GR
I think many are overwhelmed by Twitter because they worry about what they miss rather than concentrate on what they catch

29:19 - @plnaugle(Paula)
I find most teachers use FB for personal lives, but I like to show them how to use it for professional reasons.

29:27 - Peggy George
Welcome to those of you just joining us! We hope you'll take the mic to share with us. :-)

29:32 - Kim T. AZ
A couple of guest authors mentioned this when they visited our schools last year

29:34 - Sofia Segurola
my students are younger than 14 a problem with registration to Voicethread, and Duolingo or any one that requires an personal email

29:36 - Kg
@Peggy: Yes...this past year, I have done a better job of "prescheduling" Tweets to seed the conversation during talks. It seems to help when sharing a # during PD.

29:37 - Peggy George
I miss a lot on Facebook!!

29:41 - Gary CDN
Socials teachers check this out #rsidehist

30:03 - LucianeCurator 1

30:53 - aunttammie
Does count?

30:54 - Peggy George
there are places where you can have your students create disposable emails so they can join sites without using their own email

30:57 - Gary CDN
Totally agree with ClassDojo

30:59 - Kg
Class accounts?

31:03 - Susie @shighley
I probably spend more time on Voxer than twitter now; listen on my commutes to and from school

31:05 - Peggy George
yes!! Remind is perfect!

31:12 - Chris GR
Dont know if this counts but I like Remind to remind students of important dates/meetings.

31:14 - Peggy George
share it on the mic Tammie!

31:20 - Nina Peery 1
I am seeing alot tweets about SeeSaw in communicating with parents. Have not tried it, though.

31:24 - Sofia Segurola
Middle School kids

31:29 - Gary CDN
REMIND is my fav. A texting to students and parents without sharing your cellphone number

31:29 - Peggy George
I use to share

31:31 - Melissa Getz 1
@Sophia- my school had a Google school account- that solved the email address problem. (this was before G-Classroom)

31:50 - Gary CDN
Save time = for me its aTEXT

31:51 - Nina Peery 1
Google Chrome Extensions!! Tab Scissors, Tab Glue

31:58 - Peggy George

32:43 - Peggy George
@Gary what is the link for aText?

32:57 - Gary CDN
Let me look be right back

33:00 - Kim T. AZ Timer shows in the tab so you don't have to have the window open.

33:49 - Peggy George
hooray Kim!

33:50 - Gary CDN
But worth it!!!!

33:54 - Susie @shighley
I've heard good things about pocket. Weren't that having some $$ a year or so ago? I hesitated doing that because I was afraid I would lose what I "pocketed"

34:05 - Gary CDN
eg I type This is an automatic reply.Without a SPECIFIC subject title this email will not be read or replied to.Please resend with appropriate subject title.Thank you.

34:12 - Peggy George
please everyone!!!! be brave and share on the mic! we love hearing your stories along with the link!

34:13 - Nina Peery 1
Crafty Text is another Chrome Extension that will put a text on the screen large. I use it when sharing a group code for students in Edmodo, or during teacher PD.

34:31 - Peggy George
great question Paula

35:06 - Kim T. AZ

35:13 - Kg
LOVE this timer...ty

35:20 - Gary CDN

36:32 - @plnaugle(Paula)
@Kim I'm glad Peggy made you share. LOL

36:36 - Patti Ruffing
it says just for Mac

36:39 - Lorie Moffat
Clip Menu is only for Macs

36:46 - Gary CDN
Wow thats a great one!

36:57 - Peggy George
I also love to use RebelMouse for a very visual way to share things I post on Twitter, Facebook and YouTube.

36:58 - Nina Peery 1
Love that, Tammy. Never heard of clipmenu, but see how I would use it everyday, too!

37:07 - Gary CDN

37:17 - Kg
OneTab lets you collapse all of your tabs saves all of what you have open, and then you can go back to any link anytime, or create a list from them. It is a Chrome extension.

37:33 - Kim T. AZ
Google calendar, you bet!

37:40 - Kg
My dog asking to go out is a good reminder :)

37:57 - Kim T. AZ
One tab is so helpful. Now, I just need to remember to use it! :)

38:02 - Chris GR
I like WunderList for making ToDo lists

38:04 - Gary CDN

40:24 - @plnaugle(Paula)
You're excused for your tardiness, Kati. :)

40:39 - Peggy George
sometimes we have to pay something to get the best features of a tool :-)

40:45 - Chris GR
$10/mo or year?

40:58 - Peggy George
that is awesome Tammy!

41:02 - Gary CDN

41:03 - Kg
ToDoIst is my go-to to do list. It is cross platform, and is a clean, well-organized platform that is great on the free side. It sends daily to do lists and gives you karma points for accomplishing things. I don't think it has a popup.

41:10 - Susie @shighley
Can I ask a question?

41:26 - Kim T. AZ
ooohhhh, earn points??? :)

41:27 - Peggy George
you can just add these reminders to your Google Calendar too and they will pop up when you're on your computer :-)

41:32 - Peggy George
yes Susie

41:45 - Peggy George
thank you Tammy!!!!

41:45 - Nina Peery 1
Google Keep is a great tool that can be shared with toher to collaborate on.

44:51 - Sofia Segurola

44:54 - Sharon Gullett
Hoot suite is a good tool too

44:54 - Melissa Getz 1

44:59 - Kim T. AZ
For my PLN...

45:02 - Susie @shighley
And you do get used to using tweetdeck. I found it intimidating at first, but then I was at a conference and saw so many people using it and decided I should give it a try

Here is a coding webmix I created:

45:15 - Kim T. AZ

48:50 - Tammy Moore

49:07 - Peggy George
if you use Diigo in Firefox you can have your library open all the time for instant searching for bookmarks (appears in a left menu) so you don't need to have it open in a tab like you do in Chrome

49:12 - Tammy Moore

49:18 - @plnaugle(Paula)
Kati, click on the Talk bar under Participants. I'll have you up next after Tammi is finished.
