Thank you for signing up for the Classroom 2.0 LIVE workshop in Houston on June 20th, 2008! It's exciting to see how many have signed up so far. And congratulations on getting your name into the wiki page! I know that using a wiki can be a little daunting if you haven't done so before, so we wanted to give you some first-hand experience with this great Web 2.0 tool. :)

In preparation of this workshop, we invite you to complete a short (modified KWL) form before attending the workshop this Friday. The form can be completed here.

This is a "collaborative conference," which means that we are hoping you will enjoy actively participating as you learn about Web 2.0. Please don't worry if you feel you are a complete beginner--there are going to be some great sessions to help you discover this new world of the "participative" Web. If you do have some experience, we want to encourage you to become a part of the session discussions, and one way to do that is to sign up to help facilitate. We are also going to have a couple of "speed demo" sessions where you can demonstrate a technology or method you are currently using that you think others would benefit from seeing.

To sign up to facilitate or to do a speed demo, please add your name to the wiki page at http://www.classroom20wiki.com /Houston+2008+Session+Offers. There can be more than one facilitator of a session, so don't feel you are intruding if you add your name to a session someone else has already signed up to help facilitate. The more facilitators, the more we can help those for whom the technology is new! If you have any questions about participating in this way, please feel free to email me. And if our speed demo lists fill up, we'll create more!

A laptop computer with wireless capability is almost essential to your having a good experience in the workshop. If you don't have one, you are still most welcome to come, but you'll have a much better time if you can bring one.

You will be on your own for lunches, and there is a link on the agenda to a map of local restaurants near the campus. Feel free to bring food, drinks, and snacks to the workshop, or you may also visit the cafe located on the campus.

This will be a really fun day. We hope you are excited about it--we sure are. If you are not a member of Classroom 2.0, you might want to join the community there as part of your adventure: www.classroom20.com.

Best regards,

Steve
